Self-Indulgent Birthday Minecraft Cake Post

By John Walker on October 28th, 2010.

I'm gonna eat ya little piggy.

Just to say, my girlfriend is best of all the girlfriends.

But I’m also convinced that there must be other game related cakes that people have had and, ideally, photographed. So post links below, and I’ll magic them into images in the comments. Thus we will win at the internet.

Meta! The RPS Guessing Game

By Alec Meer on May 26th, 2009.

This would be the most self-indulgent post in the world (well, aside from when Kieron talks about his cartoon strips and Jim about his Eve book) if we’d made the game in question ourselves. Fortunately, we haven’t, so it’s merely one of the most self-indulgent posts in the world instead. And why not?

Reader Giblethead2000 works on a theory that it’s possible to guess who’s written any RPS post simply by reading it. He’s right, of course – Hivemind we may be, but Gillen’s are the ones full of basic grammatical errors, Jim’s are the ones without jokes, John’s are the ones about crying, and mine are the ones whining at absurd length about things that don’t matter. Nonetheless, let’s put it to the test with Giblethead’s cunning clone of the site… Death of the author? More like guess the author…

Consolevania: The Incomplete Kevin Leddins

By Kieron Gillen on October 14th, 2008.

Yeah - I was sick. Yeah, the mushrooms were wrong. But I fucking reviewed that game.

Following yesterday’s Consolevania post there was some in-thread discussion around Kevin Leddins. Which prompted Cheeba to actually put the first part up on Youtube too. which means we can present the Complete Kevin Leddins. Kevin Leddins is… well, it was kind of in response to the fallout around (“Don’t mention the War!” - Ed). It’s mocking several people, but, mainly – I fear – me. To be honest, the first time Jim saw it, after watching the end he said “Yeah – that’s pretty much what it’s like”. We fucking reviewed the game. Both vids beneath the cut…

T-Shirt Compo: Winnahs

By Alec Meer on April 28th, 2008.

As you may recall, a while back, we ran a competition to win some natty Splitreason.com t-shirts. The challenge was to design a possible RPS shirt, and the deadline was ooh, ages ago. Here, then, are the five winners, each of equal standing. We had a fair whack of entries, the vast majority of which involved a graphical take on rocks, paper, and shotguns – so, if you also sent in one like that, you can tell yourself you won, but the prize got lost in the Sarlaac pit or something.

Here’s Matt Breit’s super-clean take on our logo:

More winners beneath the cut.
