Viking Space Program Is Exploding With Awesome

Yes, little Kerbal. At least, there's that.

Long ago, before the seduction of fast food and motorized vehicles, there resided vikings in the land of Kerbin. It was not an easy time. These fearsome Kerbals lived and died with their colossal ships, which spat flame like the behinds of dragons. But like their eventual descendants, they persisted and grew from strength to strength. Their endless quest for naval perfection was known as the Viking Space Program and it was, like everything else in Kerbin, kinda cool.

Spend One Vicarious Hour With American Truck Simulator

Neither rain nor shine nor impending truck...

American Truck Simulator [official site-ish] looks hard. Parallel parking is already the devil, but the idea of slotting ten tons of flammable material into the back of gas station just takes things to extremes. SCS Software recently unleashed an hour’s worth of alpha gameplay footage from the game and it’s precisely what you might have expected: careful turns; meticulous inspections of both wing mirrors; the mandatory leaning-out-of-windows to check for passing school kids.

Happy Kitty, Cat Petting Simulator 2014, Purr Purr Purr

I miss having cats. Four years ago, I left home and became a professional itinerant, leaving my felines in the care of rich strangers. Today, I am bereft of cats and so, you shouldn’t take me as an unbiased source when I say, “Oh, god. Cat Petting Simulator 2014 is the best thing I’ve seen in a long time.”

Interview: Paul Jackson On RailWorks

Usually when I meet a person that’s selfishly occupying one of my dream jobs, I end up spiking their drink, driving them out to a secluded Forestry Commission car park, and setting Bosnia and Hernia (my pedigree Romanian Fighting Badgers) on them. Paul Jackson, CEO of the company that makes train sim RailWorks, was lucky. He got away with a light grilling.
