The Last Game Trailer: Tactical Intervention

By Ben Barrett on August 23rd, 2013.

I honestly think he's just riding a forklift.

This is it, this is the one. The game trailer the aliens will find when studying our radio waves fourteen million light years away. The one hard drive to survive the Guardian-bot uprising will contain it. When the rats rule this world they’ll scuttle around our carcasses as decaying monitors play it on endless repeat. It’s not the last game trailer we want, but it’s the last game trailer we deserve. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages Rock, Paper, Shotgun proudly brings to you the trailer champion of the WHUUUURRRRLLLD: Tactical Intervention.

Goose Chase: Tactical Intervention Open Beta Now

By Alec Meer on March 15th, 2013.

how come such a dirty office has posh Herman Miller chairs in it?

I’ll be honest with you: I have two middle names. I’ll be honest with you again: I will almost certainly never play Tactical Intervention, the new multiplayer shooter from Counter-Strike co-creator Minh “Gooseman” Le. Why? Because of a gypsy curse, of course. But you are under no such restrictions, which means you can play the game right now. Its open beta has launched, you see.

Update: doesn’t appear to be live in all territories as yet. Grr. Of course, there are ways and means to pretend to be American, but hopefully they’ll make it open to all comers soon.

Counter-Struck: Tactical Intervention Out This Month

By Nathan Grayson on March 2nd, 2013.

360 NO SCOPE SLIGHTLY ROTATED TORSO SHOT.

Counter-Strike will probably outlive us all. It will also probably keep bunny-hopping onward long after we’ve disposed of all terrorism and achieved glorious grievance-free utopia. There will be no counters or strikes. Only Counter-Strike. So it’s exciting to hear that the implausibly enduring formula’s original creator has decided to revisit it, and the fact that his new game, Tactical Intervention, is actually gonna be playable is pretty neat too. But when? And how? Turns out, the answers are a) this month and b) on the very personal computing device (presumably) sitting before you. The greatest anti-terror weapon of all, however, isn’t guns or drones or bombs disguised to look like good ol’ freshly made American apple pie. It’s knowledge, and you’ll find tons more of it after the break.

Tactically Intervening With Minh Le

By Lewie Procter on April 21st, 2012.

Despite having originally released all the way back in the year 2,000 Anno Domini, CounterStrike is still – still! – the number one game being played on Steam right now. That’s not even taking into account CounterStrike Source. It’s an astonishing achievement, and CounterStrike’s continued popularity is reason enough to pay attention to the new game from co-creator, Minh Le. That new game is Tactical Intervention, and it’s a project he quit his job at Valve to pursue. I sat down for a chat with him, and this is what ensued: Read the rest of this entry »

The Needlessly Enormous Tactical Intervention Gallery

By Jim Rossignol on February 17th, 2012.

Scrolling through this vast selection of Tactical Intervention images – with dogs, explosions, and terrified comedy hostages – was giving me the weirds: sending my brain back ten years, when my job on PC Gamer was to review Counter-Strike’s numerous imitators between bouts of writing about joysticks and graphics cards. How time flies. How nothing changes. It’s quite a peculiar un-nostalgia.

There are so many images here. I don’t know why I posted them all. I’m sorry.

Tactical Intervention Pokes Its Head From Cover

By Craig Pearson on February 16th, 2012.

Quick, clean the place up! People are coming!
Counter-Strike co-creator Mihn Le left Valve a few years ago to work on his own interpretation of the CS formula, but he took something with him: he runs on Valve Time, that temporal twisting that people experience in the presence of all those Steam servers. For years and years I’ve been hearing about his free-to-play Terrorist vs Swat team game Tactical Intervention, and it finally looks like it’s breaking loose in 2012. The American launch of the game will be in Spring 2012, with closed beta testing in March. There’s even a new teaser trailer, showing rappelling!

GooseBumpmap: Tactical Intervention

By Jim Rossignol on May 17th, 2010.

Counter-Strike getting a rejigging comes at an interesting time, because it coincides with the closed beta of a new team-combat game (I originally typo’d “tram combat”, which sounds a lot more interesting) being developed by members of the original CS team, including Minh Le, or Gooseman. Tactical Intervention, for that is the name of the game, is taking signups now, and the beta is apparently set for launch on 28th of May. Can the world support another team-based tactical shooter? Well, yeah, probably. Footage below.

Counter-strike Counter: Tactical Intervention

By Kieron Gillen on January 6th, 2010.

'When I'm cleaning windows' has been updated for the times.

We haven’t even mentioned Mihn Lee’s (One of Counter-strike’s original creators and Valve alumni) new project yet. Now, as screens and a little more info leaks out, let’s make ammends. Go have a nose at the gallery here and see the press-release here. Its Beta will start in the first half of 2010 and is a source-engine shooter which features “hostage NPCs with impeccable AI”. Impeccable AI! I do like AI which has been Impecced.
