Claymation Adventure Game Armikrog Due In August

After two years of writhing and squirming in its Kickstarted cocoon, Armikrog [official site] is almost ready to emerge as a beautiful plasticine butterfly. The claymation adventure game will launch for Windows, Mac, and Linux on August 18th, developers Pencil Test Studios have announced. Their numbers include Doug TenNapel – the chap behind Earthworm Jim and ye olde claymation adventure The Neverhood, which Armikrog was billed as the “spiritual successor” to. Claymazing: ScummVM Now Supports The Neverhood

While Doug TenNapel’s claymation adventure game Armikrog wriggles and writhes in its Kickstarted chrysalis, you might fancy another crack at The Neverhood, the game Armikrog is meant to be a “spiritual successor” to. “Oh but that’s from far back in 1996!” you cry. “Surely it’d be far too much of a bother to get working on a modern PC?” You talk kinda funny, you know. But it’s fine. ScummVM has you covered, as it can now run The Neverhood. If you can somehow find a copy of it somewhere.

A Claymation Adventure From Neverhood Devs! Armikrog

Woah, how did I miss this? There’s to be (Kickstarter depending) a spiritual sequel to claymation classic The Neverhood. Armikrog is asking for a hefty $900,000 (although it’s already nearly a third of the way there), and being developed by Doug TenNapel himself – the creator of both Earthworm Jim and The Neverhood – along with other members of the original team.
