I’ll admit to some cynicism when the first round of public voting in the Team Fortress 2 Saxxy Awards kicked off. Probably because the quality of the entrants meant it was like picking through poison sea urchins with your bare hands. But all that’s changed! Now we’re down to the final nominees, the ten videos with the most votes in each of the film making contest’s twenty categories. Depending on how much fibreglass you ate as a child you may or may not remember that the last two weeks saw Valve encouraging people to use Team Fortress 2′s new editing suite to submit videos in a whopping twenty different categories. The deadline for this competition is long gone but the fun is just beginning, as now anyone with a Steam account can start judging those videos via this very link.

Valve have added a replay editor to team-based FPS Team Fortress 2! Replay-enabled servers will now record matches in their entireity, allowing players to go back and cherry-pick clips, and even add “sexy motion blur”. How are Valve celebrating? With an award ceremony, naturally.
