This Just In: Bioware Unsure On Tali’s Face

By Quintin Smith on July 4th, 2011.

But what happens when she sneezes?

I love these strange burps and backdrafts of information that aren’t really stories, yet they are.

Bioware art director Derek Watts has revealed in an interview with CVG that the studio is having trouble deciding whether to finally reveal the face of party member Tali in Mass Effect 3. Tali has, up till now, sheltered behind the mask that characterises her space-faring people with their terrible immune systems, and in the process has become something of a seductive enigma in the Mass Effect community, as a quick (NSFW) Google image search will prove.

Dungeon Siege 3 Advert Is What I Don’t Even

By Quintin Smith on June 15th, 2011.

i mean maybe they were thinking that the no wait what

Dungeon Siege III has some of the noisiest visuals I’ve ever seen in an RPG. I’ve made fun them before. What, then, is a good solution when you want to advertise the game on a television?

Square Enix came up with a solution. A million thanks to RPS reader João “Mellow” Melo for sending this in.

By Quintin Smith on June 10th, 2011.

It glows, because it's from the future

I’m too good to you lot. First of all I ease your aching need for a $200 Star Wars keyboard, and now I point you towards a promotional Batman: Arkham City controller designed like a batarang and lit up like some kind of high-tech bat… controller.

What? Skyrim Will Have “Unlimited Dragons”

By Quintin Smith on May 19th, 2011.

Sounds like it might 'drag on' a bit.

In a story that makes for one of the most double-take inducing headlines of 2011, Skyrim director Todd Howard last week told Norweigan outlet Gamer.no that Skyrim will have “an unlimited number of dragons”. You heard me right, people. Infinity dragons. If you were worrying about running out of dragons in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, well, don’t do that.

You can read parts one and two of the translated interview here and here. But wait! It gets better.

Are Valve Working On Something Horrible?

By Quintin Smith on March 23rd, 2011.

It's kind of like somebody guessing what Alec's mum might look like.

This is quite the thing. PC Gamer has caught sight of a photo posted by Team Fortress 2 community member Political Gamer on his recent visit to Valve’s offices, which he writes about on the Steam forums here. Most of the images in the thread are idle photography, but one of them- which you’ll see in full after the jump- is a wall of sci-fi looking concept art showing space-ships and whole load of headshots of people who might best be described as “incorrect”. My unstoppable speculation follows…

NAZISAURUS: Dino D-Day Beta Next Week

By Quintin Smith on February 23rd, 2011.

And they say PC gaming is dead.

I know this looks like an April Fools’ post, but bear with me. Dino D-Day, the Source engine-powered downloadable multiplayer game that Kieron posted about back in November will be genuinely entering an actual closed beta on March 1st, with all 12 classes (or rather, 9 classes and the raptor, dilophosaur and desmatosuchus). Those interested in acquiring a beta key (and how could you not be) should follow Dino D-Day on Facebook and Twitter, say the developers. I am genuinely excited about playing this with Spotify belting out some Wagner in the background. Full press release after the jump.

Nothing At All Announced About Fable 3

By Quintin Smith on January 4th, 2011.

God, here’s some news to rival yesterday’s some manner of Mass Effect 2 DLC is coming at some point story. Lionhead Studios have tweeted that they can’t currently reveal anything about the PC version of Fable 3, which had previously been scheduled for December, but they hope that they will be able to “spill the beans” soon. You’d better believe that when Lionhead finally does upend its precious beans, RPS will be right there on the scene, standing behind the protective perspex bean screen. That is all.
