Superdog: Fallout 4’s Dogmeat Can’t Die

Todd Howard has shared a lot of information about Fallout 4 [official site] so far this E3, but this latest titbit is easily the most important of the lot. Your faithful dog companion will never die. Despite the world being transformed into a nuclear wasteland, this makes Fallout 4’s universe the most beautiful of all the universes.

Apparently We Won’t Hear About Fallout 4 For ‘A While’

Guess it's time to replay Fallout 3 and New Vegas with tons of mods. Again.

It’s incredibly odd talking to a high-profile game developer when they can tell you very nearly nothing. It’s akin to squeezing lemonade from a lemon husk that’s been sitting in an open garbage bin for upwards of a year. All that comes out is dust and lemon-scented whispers of “no comment.” But Bethesda’s case is special. Bethesda’s Howard: People Discount Graphics

In case you haven’t figured it out by now, the DICE Summit is a place where a bunch of game developers congregate to say things. Lots of things. Promising things, important things, silly things. This year, though, it was a bit strange. The conference’s main refrain was “So yeah, what’s next?” But the reply was a chorus of “Errr, I dunnos.” The future’s right around the corner, but is it bite-sized and lo-fi, biometric, entirely user-driven, mobile, console, open, closed, or something else entirely? On edge, is how I’d describe the general sentiment. Unsure. Well, except for when I spoke with Bethesda‘s Todd Howard. He didn’t seem particularly worried, in large part thanks to these here personal computing devices we’re so fond of.

From The Bunker: The Bethesda/id Podcast

They’ve missed a trick not calling this Galaxy News Radio and lobbing in Three Dog soundbytes, frankly. This 22 minute chat, hopefully the first of many, features Bethesda’s king Todd Howard and id’s creative boss Tim Willits chatting about game design, QuakeCon and regrettable moustaches. It’s… well, it’s not exactly ripe with zingers and can be a bit of a tough listen, but I’m very glad it exists.
