Wot I Think: Lego Jurassic World

The prolific TT Games have a new Lego game just in time for the new Jurassic World movie. Covering all four Jurassic Park movies and featuring an awful lot of stompy dinos, how does Lego Jurassic World one fare in their ever-growing catalogue? Here’s wot I think:

Jeff Goldbrick: Lego Jurassic World

Don’t let the name fool you. Lego Jurassic World [official site] may be tied to the similarly titled Big Summer Sequel for marketing purposes, but it covers the previous films in the Jurassic series as well. That means Lego Attenborough, Lego Laura Dern, Lego Sam Neill and Lego Annoying Kids. It also means Lego Goldblum. There will also be dinosaurs, as the trailer below demonstrates.

Spruce Bruce: Lego Batman 3 – Beyond Gotham

If I decide to journey beyond Manchester of a weekend, I might wander as far as Sheffield or Leeds. Maybe a village pub if I’m in the mood for something a little more quaint. Occasionally, I’m even tempted to heard north, across the border into Scotland. Chances are, once I get beyond the front door of my flat, I’ll land in a local drinking haunt though.

A new trailer for Lego Batman 3 shows what happens when Bruce Wayne goes ‘beyond Gotham’. It’s space. He goes to space in some sort of BatRocket. I think he goes to other dimensions as well and at one point Robin Plasticman turns into a fighter plane (which makes more sense – thanks to @rhamorim for correcting my ludicrous error). Wot I Think: Lego The Hobbit

Lego The Hobbit could simply be called ‘There’ because there ain’t no ‘Back Again’. Lacking the narrative content that will form the final third of the swollen and gaseous film trilogy, this is a perfectly acceptable entry in Traveller’s Tales’ Lego franchise but the release comes at an odd time. The disappointing Lego Movie Videogame is barely out of diapers and Smaug has finished his desolation of multiplexes, leaving the game stranded in the wilderness before the final chapter of an unfinished story. Here’s wot I think.

What’s Going On With Lego Marvel’s Mess Of A Release?

If you’re in the futuristic megacities of Americaland, you’ll likely know that you can buy and play Lego Marvel Super Heroes on Steam right now. You’ve been able to for a week or so. If you’re in, say, Britain, you may not know that you too can’t. Except, until recently, you could buy it! Just not play it. It’s been fixed now, but for a while there, Steam had it as a “coming soon” with a release date in the past, and a store page that let you buy it with no warnings. Just, when you went to install it, it got stuck. So what happened there? And why isn’t it out in the UK for another two weeks?

Wot I Think: Lego Pirates Of The Caribbean

Lego Pirates Of The Caribbean came out last week. A bit. I’m most of the way through what’s a very big game, and am ready to sit on the lounge floor amidst piles of plastic bricks, and tell you Wot I Think.
