The Grim Speaker: Darksiders 2 Interview

I took to the role of Death with great aplomb when I played Darksiders II recently and later that same day I had the chance to speak with game director Marvin Donald. Although we didn’t question the nature of Death in an existential fashion, we did discuss how he feels about his game being compared to The Legend of Zelda, the stranger worlds through which Death walks, whether this will be a four game series and how much we both like collecting loot.

Hands On: Darksiders II

I didn’t play Darksiders until its PC release, which meant I’d already heard a million people compare it to Zelda and God of War. What a pleasant surprise to play the game and find that it had character of its own and kept rewarding me with new toys throughout its substantial and entertainingly silly story. Sitting down to play the sequel I thought it would just be more of the same. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Death, Cut Your Fingernails: Darksiders II

You're bound to hurt someone with those.

I’m so tired this morning that if horseman Death came charged toward me, I’d limply reach out a hand to touch his scythe and embrace the sweet, sweet sleep that awaits. But fortunately he’s fictional, and I’ll wake up soon. He is, however, to feature in Darksiders II, and if you needed more proof than my word, there are screenshots of said game below. They’re new, and they’ve got big, cross monsters in them.

Death Offers No Peace: Darksiders II

Darksiders II was also revealed at the ridiculous VGA Spike thing. THQ’s sequel to, well, Darksiders, has been quiet since July, when we took a look at it. But it was waiting for the annual fartfest to reveal itself a new teaser trailer, and indeed its release date. Which will be, oh, “Summer 2012″. Well, it’s better than “TBA”.

Warhammer 40k Dark Millennium Dated 2013

UPDATE: The info has been removed now, so we must assumed it was posted in error. Whether that means it’s wrong, I don’t know.

We won’t be grinding nobz any time soon… THQ’s Warhamer 40k MMO, Dark Millennium Online has been dated for the distant future of March 13, 2013. This official website bore the news, with a bit of text about the “Sargos Sector” which will play host to the action.

Gosh that’s a long run up. Original announcement trailer from June last year is below.

Shine A Light: Dark Millenium Online Trailer

In my future, Space Marines are rapid deployment Feng Shui experts

In the grim darkness of the future, there is only Warhammer 40k MMORPG Dark Millenium Online. No, seriously- I’m not sure that there’s another game we’ve been posting about this E3 week with a release date as far off as 2013. Curiously, this (brief) trailer brands the game as a “Massively Multiplayer Online Action Experience”, and when I had a brief chat with the developers at Gamescom last year I do remember them talking about how they were developing some revolutionary new kind of combat. Hmm. Will this be the first massively multiplayer 3rd person shooter? Only time will tell. So, so much time.

THQ Says 40k MMO Due By March 31, 2013

That’s because they told their investors that the maximalist sci-fi Warhammer game is going to fall in the “fiscal year 2013″. That’s an imaginary year made of numbers that falls between April 2012 and March 2013. So the field is pretty wide, but we can expect it to turn up by the end of 2012, maybe. There’s actually a surprising amount of information available on the game, given that is is so far away, and we still seem to know almost nothing about it. See this interview, and also this trailer, and this screenshot gallery.

Raargh: Darksiders Released, Impressions

The PC version of THQ’s demonic hack ‘em up adventure Darksiders is out today, and I’ve been having a bit of play. In it you thump your way through the hyperbolic story a fallen horseman of the apocalypse. With an ultimate goal of cosmic revenge, you chop many unpleasant creatures into pieces with a sword the size of an ironing board. A satisfying undertaking, you might think. And perhaps a welcome break from World War II RTS titles, too? Well, read on for some more thoughts.

Inquisition: Dark Millenium Online Interview

Seems these are the five classes that'll be available to the Imperium. Go! Go! Try and name them all!

I’m interested in Dark Millenium Online, the 40K MMORPG. I really am. I just wish Vigil Games would reveal more about it, so while I was at GamesCom I hatched a truly brilliant plan. Unfortunately my sock full of pennies and painstakingly sharpened Biro were taken off me at the door of their booth, so I settled for a straight interview with Executive Producer Tim Campbell. You can read it right after the jump.

WH40k Dark Millennium 1st Faction Revealed

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online is looking like one of the highlights of GamesCom, and we’ll have an interview turning up pretty soon. In the meantime you can check out this new trailer, which details the first playable faction: The Imperium Of Man. Not much of a surprise, granted. But playable Adeptus Mechanicus? That’s my first character already sewn up, then. Lots more footage below, go: behold.
