WayForward’s Mighty Switch Force Now On PC

By Alice O'Connor on June 27th, 2015.

WayForward have built a fair reputation for themselves with platformers like Shantae, but most of their games are for Nintendo systems. They do bring them over to PC every so often, though, as they now have with Mighty Switch Force [official site].

Spacecop Patricia Wagon (Patty Wagon, yeah? Paddy Wagon, right? Eh?) is out to take down Space Hooligans in 2D shooty puzzle-platforming with this HDified ‘Hyper Drive Edition’ of the game, which is now on Steam for £6.29.

Time To Try Again: New Adventure Time Game Announced

By Alice O'Connor on May 9th, 2014.

A boy and his dog.

Once upon a time, one could simply whisper the words “Adventure Time video game” and need to curl up into a ball to have any hope of surviving the crushing crowd of fans crying “Mathematical!” and “Algebraic!” in attempts to will such a fantastic gameological creature into existence. Bloody Ports: BloodRayne Betrayal Rising Next Week

By Alice O'Connor on April 25th, 2014.

That's blood all right

Vampires should wear uncomfortable amounts of PVC, have names like Sisters of Mercy song titles, pose moodily on rooftops, and kill loads of soldiers in slow-motion. In a post-The Matrix, pre-Underworld time, Terminal Reality gave us a blade-slinging, leather-clad, half-vampire Nazi-hunter in the 3D hack ‘n’ slash BloodRayne, spawning two so-so games in the early noughties then a dire movie trilogy from Uwe Boll. Something something wordplay about the undead or whatever, after a seven-year break Rayne returned to games in BloodRayne Betrayal, a 2D stabby platformer for consoles. Which is now ported to PC, arriving next Wednesday.

By Adam Smith on January 13th, 2014.

But please do not high five me with a baseball bat.

Double Dragon: Neon appeared on consoles in 2012, riding a skateboard and juggling nunchakus while spraypainting ‘cowabunga’ onto an abandoned subway train. Now, a trailer plucked from a less bleak version of 1984 brings news that the co-op side-scrolling brawler will be arriving on Steam ‘soon’. The Blood Dragon of the Double Dragon franchise, Neon recognises the silliness of Billy and Jimmy’s adventures, takes a look in the mirror, and laughs long and hard at its own reflection.

By John Walker on November 22nd, 2013.

With the incredible lore and stories of 70 or so episodes, and the infectious glee of the adored series, it’s hard to see how you could go wrong with an Adventure Time RPG.
