Diesel And The Diesels: Wheelman Trailers

By John Walker on March 6th, 2009.

This is frankly dangerous. He's not wearnig a helmet!

Vin Diesel’s driving game Wheelman is due in about three weeks. Savour that. A Vin Diesel game, not based on a movie nor nuffink. He plays a man called Milo Burik, which literally rhymes with the central character of another open-city car driving game that was recently quite popular. In this instance the city is Barcelona, which must be smashed to bits, cars and all, as Diesel hurtles around performing pumped up stunts and general bravado. There’s a couple of new trailers showing off quite how explosive the car-go-bangs are to be.

Wheelman, Runs On Diesel

By Jim Rossignol on April 21st, 2008.

EDIT: Kieron already blogged about the trailer here, I am slow.

Vin Diesel’s game-chums at Tigon Studios haven been busy making an open world racing game, Wheelman, which is now set to be published by Midway in the Autumn. It’s now reported to be coming on PC as well as the consoles, which seems to bes the first time that little fact has appeared on our radar. Also it seems that Midway-Newcastle are doing some of the development legwork for the game too, hey guys! Work on this started on this several years ago, so it looks like it’s been slow to gestate. Let’s hope the long wait was worthwhile.

Anyway, it’s a speed-and-violence type game, in which Vin “Quite Likes Videogames” Diesel plays the main character, Milo Burik. (I originally thought he was called Milo Bunk, which would have been much better.) Anyway, the main hype site is up here, and has some screens and stuff. There’s also a gameplay-footagey GT interview with the executive producer, Shaun Himmerick, after the jump.

It’s got Diesel. But will it be four star?

By Kieron Gillen on April 17th, 2008.

Wow. That’s what happens if you write a headline before a second cup of tea. Anyway! Here’s a trailer showing the first footage of the game of the forthcoming Vin Disel – ahem – Vehicle, Wheelman. You’ll be surprised to discover that it’s actually a hardcore Matrix-esque wargame.

Actually, it’s a driving game. It prominently features vrooming, screeching and an oddly lacksidasical Vin Disel driving. He needs an Outrun-esque girl in the seat, screaming, by way of contrast. We also hit up our exclusive contacts inside Midway and can reveal that the Midway offices of the team are “Drafty”. We’ll keep you updated.
