In The Arma Now: Iron Front – Liberation 1944 Out In May

There’s definitely room for a simplified but not simplistic Arma II; big, intense, multi-layered battles but maybe a bit easier to pick up and play. I’m hoping that’s the route Iron Front – Liberation 1944 is taking, although the more I read about it the more Arma-ish it seems. It uses the Arma II: Operation Arrowhead engine to set the battles between the German and Russian forces in motion. I can be disappointing and excited at the same time, right?

If Sniper Elite V2’s Killcam of the Week is a thing now, then I’m all for it. Simple, effective delivery of bullets to the brain over distance has always been my favourite thing in games, even better when we get to join the bullet on their journey, to share the excitement of their life’s ambition of making a skull’s acquaintance. Rebellion’s WW2 sniper sim puts you in the pants of a an OSS agent, hunting his targets through the Battle of Berlin. Historically inaccurate video, below.

Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy – Commonwealth Forces, or Norman to friends, aka the game that clogged the RPS title cannon, is sneaking up on the release battle. The generals at Battlefront have instigated manoeuvres, launching the first volley of in-game video at the front lines of the enemy browsers.
