Rise Of The Argonauts: Argo Trailer

The latest trailer for Codemaster’s mythical Greek action-RPG sees designer Charley Price and writer Rico Sablin talking about the role of the Argo as the hub section of the game. It’s not just a pretty cutscene, it’s also an active base of operations that you return to between adventures, as the footage in this trailer demonstrates. For some more muscular information, and our interview with Mr Price, click here. The picture used to illustrate this piece shows off Jason’s custard blast power. (Maybe.)

  1. Matt says:

A ship without peer? But a ship needs a pier!!!!

Hahaha. That doesn’t really work written down…

  2. EyeMessiah says:

Jason still looks intolerable to me. I hope someone makes a ‘less annoying face’ mod.

  3. Weylund says:

I didn’t need to see two minutes of these guys talking about their made-up version of the Argo. “Ooh, there’s these mechanical water-wheels! Ooh! And it’s huge and ever-changing!” Right. I only made myself finish watching it because I wanted to justify my hate for their inanity that. much. more.

More gameplay video of Jason making stupid faces as he cuts things into pre-determined halves in slow motion would be waaaay better.

Is there anything remotely intriguing about this game that I’m missing here?

  4. Ozzie says:

I think Jason looks perfectly fine (and appropiately greek ;)) and the game could be fascinating and unique.
I like what I see and am looking forward to it!

  5. Jash says:

The world needs more story driven games based in ancient Greece. And Rome! Since the upcoming re release of The Witcher will give me my RPG fix, I hope this one will be the next in line.

  6. Weylund says:

Agreed… more Greece good. But Jason? They couldn’t set their sights a bit higher? Like… Odysseus? There’s a cracking game, possibly a couple of them.

On a related note, I’d love to find a game that focuses on the reality of Greece. Not just Athens vs. Sparta (with its inevitable Herotodean pro-Athenian bent) but, you know, “citizens” sitting around and arguing with each for no good reason and then eventually executing the guy who had the best idea and carried it through and saved the city but who no one agreed with…

Ahh, now I see. What was wrong with those people?

Rise of the Argonauts looks awesome I cannot wait to check out all the villains they come up with in this game. Did you hear Tyler Bates the composer for 300 composed the score for this game? So cool! If you don’t have the money to buy this awesome game you now have the chance to win it among some other cool prizes.
