Bring The Crane: Blurst’s Crane Wars

Yay. Blurst’s latest in their plan to release four-hundred and twenty-two games this week hits. It’s Crane Wars. We’ve talked about it before but it’s a crane-physics game with a pleasingly-fun and even affectionately satirical Union members versus dirty-scabs scenario. You make your towers, as quickly as you can, topping them off with a top part to finish them. Alternatively, lob buildings or trucks at the scabs at work across the street. Or both. Real physics, agreeable mayhem and a video of it in play below…

  1. NikRichards says:

Not as pretty as blush, but certainly gonna give it a go.

  2. Ian says:

    <3 Blurst.

  3. Kieron Gillen says:

More people should be playing this one. It’s agreeably mental.

  4. LeFishy says:

I played it a day or two ago and I just find it too hard for my little brain. Like most of Flashbang’s games I guess. It doesn’t have the same delightful feeling about it as OVS or Minotaur China Shop. Maybe it is just me though.

  5. Ian says:

It’s not as good as Minotaur China Shop or Blush, but it’s still good for a chuckle.

EDIT: Change of heart. Now that I’ve got the hang of chucking stuff at the scabs (Oh the joy when my pick-up truck knocked down their enormous skyscraper) the game is doubly joyous.

  6. pimorte says:

I never saw a scab building successfully go above one story, and that’s without any attacks on them on my part.
It would be better if there was manual control of the height and no eternally repeated exchanges between Fatso and Scab.

  7. Ian says:

Really? In the two games I played they built a fairly successful 3-5 story building and started on some others.

  8. The Hammer says:

Hahaha, I loved this. It’s not their most appealing game, but god, it’s another well-designed, cheerful slice of browser-gaming. But, y’know… minotaurs…

  9. Ian says:

Now if the game had wandering, angry minotaurs that you could throw at the scabs…

  10. Marcin says:

I keep picking up the floor I just dropped. I’m fairly sure I’m not clicking anywhere near it … very annoying.

Ohhhh, I bet clicking engages the “grab” regardless of where the crane is. I’m clicking too early. Going back for another shot.

  11. Colin says:

I think something’s wrong with my mouse drivers? I click and hold to grab, but then the only way I can release is to rick click. When I right click it opens up the menu (about unity player, etc) which when it’s open won’t let me click at all. So every timne I grab something, I have to alt-tab to something else before I can grab something else.
