2K: No Minerva’s Den

A post on the 2K forums announces that we aren’t getting what looks like a pretty decent single-player DLC for Bioshock 2:

We will not be offering Protector Trials and Minerva’s Den on the PC in the future – and I want to say that I’m sorry for the disappointment this will cause to PC players out there. As always, if any of these issues change in the future, I will update you guys first, but at this point in time I don’t want to make you wait any longer and these are the most definite answers I have and you guys should deem them final decisions.

It is this kind of thing that scares me with PC gaming. Lets be honest, console gaming is the bulk of the market, and developers/publishers look there first for profits. I don’t own a console, and have always been a PC gamer, and that bugs me.

My biggest fear is that Mass Effect 3 won’t be “complete” on PC. I highly doubt BioWare would do something like that, though.

Considering Bioware’s treatment of the Mass Effect and Dragon Age DLCs so far on PC, I wouldn’t worry too much. But then again, it’s still a valid point.

Sad. Frothing aside, I rather liked Bioshock 2 and looked forward to playing around a little more in the setting. I was a shoo-in for buying Minerva’s Den and liked the game enough to put up with GFWL/whatever delivery method was imposed.

Now I won’t get to enjoy the new section. A pity. Perhaps 2K’s projections didn’t show enough potential PC buyers to make it worth the outlay (although it would have been a pretty small outlay…)

This is exactly why people begin to download pirate versions of super games like bioshock. If they won’t support the PC platform, we sure as hell won’t support them.
Bought the first and second one legit. Won’t be buying 3rd bioshock, but will be playing.
See ya sukcerrrs (this is directed at 2k :)

If you like this game… buy it!
if you don’t like this game, or they screw over PC gamers… Don’t buy it but play it anyhow!
