RPS Electronic Wireless Show Episode 47

logo logo LOGO!

Goodness and crikey, Jim and John have recorded an RPS Electronic Wireless Show. As mentioned was in Revelation (22.4: And they shall talk rubbish and creak their chairs until Babylon rises and falls).

We’re not the sort to let themes trouble us, and as such the discussion covers dreaming, Keith Olbermann, and fancy dress costumes. There’s also an exclusive competition to win a rare prize!

We do occasionally mention games, with Minecraft, the STALKER TV show (that almost counts), MMO subscriptions vs free-to-play, James Bond: Blood Stone, and old age sitcoms (oh wait).

We discuss the role of Keith Olbermann and Jon Stewart, and then get somewhat back on track with The UnderGarden. And X Factor judges.

There’s also a competition inside, and you can enter by clicking here. But make sure to read, re-read, and re-re-read the compo rules here. The competition was sponsored by the awesome gentlemen of SteelSeries and, well, it’s a bit of a collector’s item, Blizzard Fans…

There’s a chunk of discussion about subscribing, and if you’re interested in doing that, and getting all the bonuses and frankly overbearing love, you can do that here.

Get the mp3 directly from here, subscribe to it by RSS with this, and don’t get it on iTunes from here. If anyone knows why iTunes has stopped updating our podcast, please let us know.

Or listen to it right here:

  1. Jim Rossignol says:

Listen for how John mimics my use of the word “expunge”.

  2. oceanclub says:

    Is iTunes finally fixed? Hurrah!

    • Insectecutor says:

      No. Grrr!

    • Johan says:

No, iTunes still won’t update… Strange… Any iTunes savvy folk out there who could venture a guess as to why?

  3. Nallen says:

I’m ill, but this news has cheered me up :)

  4. JimRyanor says:

    lol, fail

  5. Ian says:

It being listen-to-able right from this yere page will make this as the first RPSEWS I’ve actually heard.

  6. Crusoe says:

A game set on a beach, in which you can swim in the water and there are dangerous sharks, you say?

    Crysis, then ;)

  7. Om says:

At first glance i thought this had something to do with Hitman 5. Now I am sad

  8. Xercies says:

    Rum Doings 2 basically…

    • Arthur Barnhouse says:

This one isn’t directing ire at me personally, so in that sense it was much more enjoyable.

    • John Walker says:

We weren’t directing any ire toward you! We were saying that your one of the very few people who contacts us, thus making you one of the good guys. Although Nick did confuse you for Mike, and then became very worried that you’d sue him because he called you a Christian.

    • Arthur Barnhouse says:

Well. . . I guess I misunderstood the intent of the comment. I shall wipe the tears from my eyes and give it another listen.

    • Auspex says:

Nick actually scoffed at me in a Rum Doings podcast! It just means we’re super cool.

    • Xercies says:

Yeah I would love if I got that

    • terry says:

I listen to Rum Doings but am scared to write because you’ll only mock my grammar and peasant lineage.

  9. DXN says:

    [Just started listening]

When I see the RPS podcast banner thingy on the front page I say “Yesssssss! Sweet!” and such things, due to it being excellent and my getting to listen to it. I imperiously demand that you make more, mediaslaves! <3

  10. stahlwerk says:

opposites of “ambient”: “in your face”, “obnoxious”?

  11. Kadayi says:

I like Keith Olbermann. Sure he’s a bit ranty (at times), but he does at least have the ability to acknowledge that he makes mistakes, which is more than can be said for people like Hannity, O’Reilly and well as the lesser lifeforms known as Beck & Limbaugh.

  12. Coins says:

I think that, on the subject of survival games, you will enjoy Urw, if you didn’t know it existed. It does the procedurally generated lands with towns and stuff, and it’s generally very neat (although pixelish and not free!) link to jmp.fi this is a link.

  13. Hybrid says:

An Electronic Wireless Show? Today is a good day!

    • Dozer says:

I’ve listened to TF2 Gaga so long now that I’m conditioned to respond thus:
Today is a good day! Give ’em hell boys!
Nice work, good work, outstanding! Deploy a sentry here!
Chaaarge! Forward! The worm has turned, gentlemen!
Hhhyyyush, hyush! Rally round, help me cap this point!

      er, yeah.

  14. Emperor_Jimmu says:

Why would you try to mine obsidian? Obsidian = lava + water. All you need is a bucket. Unfortunately while constructing my portal in this fashion I killed myself with lava. It seems that death by lava is an inevitability.

  15. drewski says:

Excellent. I have to listen to podcasts in twos, and I had a lone podcast sitting in my folder awaiting listening, which I couldn’t do, because it didn’t have a match, but now it does.

  16. terry says:

Poor Jim, he can’t even mention STALKER without Walker immediately leaping in bellowing and hooting about the fact. He sounded really thrown :-(

    • Kadayi says:

Jim should of countered with ‘so which game did you cry about today’ ;)

    • Nick says:

He even mentioned it much sooner than John noticed.

  17. Kadayi says:

    link to msnbc.msn.com

    Olbermann bites back ;)
