Here Is A Very Short Arkham City Teaser

Batman in flight! Afternoon delight.

Batman! He fights badguys, not police. Not unless he has to! But when he has to, he will fight a police as hard as it takes. That is what this trailer lets us know. Rocksteady Studios! If you would like me to start using correct grammar in future posts on Arkham City, please release some in-game footage. Thanks.

Held hostage by poor grammar. Welcome to the interwebz, bitches!

  2. a.nye.123 says:

Sam Fisher v Batman? YES PLEASE.

  3. Premium User Badge

    phuzz says:

Is that the original (for 1980’s values of original) Michel Keaton Batman? It sure looks like him.

  4. Stompywitch says:

Autumn 2011! I thought it was just Spring…

  5. Tusque d'Ivoire says:

Nobody ever sees Batman longer than this (before he gets something in the face), that is why this teaser HAS to be so short.

  6. kastanok says:

I ignored the video, waiting for it to get past the Splinter Cell advert. Then it ended.

    • HeavyStorm says:

Oh god, I laughed loud. I’m at work! Damn.

    • Cooper says:

I did exactly the same. Saw the trademark glowing thingies, thought “they really put ads on short teasers now?, that’s like having ads attached to ads…” Then noticed the manbat’s face and thought.

    • Sigma Draconis says:

Oh good, I’m not the only one that thought it was a Splinter Cell teaser until Batman’s mug showed up.

    • DrGonzo says:

I thought it was a bit of a joke. They are both stealth games. It’s a bit like our character is harder than yours.

    • Bhazor says:

I agree with Dr Gonzo, that is far too close to classic Sam to be a coincidence.

    • Lukasz says:

i watched chocolate advert before the teaser.

  7. Mike says:

    Thanks, MSN Videos!

  8. kutkh says:

    Batman’s expression at 00:19-00:20.

I’m sure they were going for “I’m looking at crime in the face”, but they got “sorry, what? I just got a text.”

  9. ShoTro says:

Really hate the fact that people online see Swat or military grade night vision goggles in a game it automatically becomes a Splinter Cell rip-off… can we just get past the fact that THAT game had them, after several other games did, might I add, and actually concentrate on the video for what it is worth.

So Batman will have to get past cops. Why? and how does this effect gameplay… most of all, will this be handled well? Is it because of Hugo Strange?

    • HeavyStorm says:

Maybe developers should know that those goggles become splinter cell trademark, even more when they are Green, and avoid then on a 10 sec length video which doesn’t even make clear what the main character is — unless, of course, for the Batman: Arkham City appearing at the end.

      Well, more bat-sugar here.

    • rayne117 says:

Really, you are bothered by the connection? You are on a video game site and you are baffled that people associate a facial accessory with a character?

I guess you can literally be bothered by anything.

    • Bhazor says:

This is because the three green light goggles were Splinter Cell’s trademark. They are set apart from most real night vision goggle because these have two lenses. This is arguably because most humans have no more than two eyes.

  10. opel says:

I had extremely low expectations for the video, and yet I was still disappointed. I feel like I need to warn people to save 30 seconds of their life, but anyone who would take the time to read this has already seen it. Probably twice, because they couldn’t believe it was so vacant.

    • Fox says:

Agree. There was only 15 seconds of footage as well, the entire second half was a title and a release date. Seems like a waste of a teaser seeing as the mandatory ‘dramatic reveal’ was that Batman was in it.

Which I kind of already expected from the new Batman game…

    • Adam Babloyan says:

Oh bo ho the evil Batman-Trailer pissed in your Wheaties?

Seriously…you morons are being “disappointed” with trailers these days?

  11. Araxiel says:

    My thoughts:

“Oh come on, I just want to see the teaser and not some advertisement for another game, which has a striking resemblence to Alpha Protocol…oh one guy get’s suddenly knocked out, who would have guessed that? Bori…oh wait, it’s batman?! Waitwhat! That was it? You must be kidding!”

  12. Chris R says:

Those don’t look like cops to me. I get a more merc/PMC vibe. Their insignia (for what you can see) don’t look like GCPD to me. But then again this trailer IS INCREDIBLY SHORT AND VAGUE.

  13. geldonyetich says:

So impressed I was with Arkham Asylum, getting this game is a done deal for me. A pity it won’t be out for many, many months.

  14. fatchap says:

I was expecting Batman to smash Twiggy’s face in until I realised there was an ad for Marks and Spencers before the trailer.

    Colour me disappointed.

  15. Pliq says:

Started the video but saw a flying whale.
    It was pretty disturbing.

  16. Pani says:

I got a Marks and Sparks trailer and then no batman! It never loaded.

    Batman: Marks and Spencer?

  17. Navagon says:

All I saw was a load of white letters and numbers on black squares. Perhaps I should try looking at the screen next time.

  18. Zogtee says:

Also, Peggy 16, you little slut.

  19. U.N.I.T.Y. HQ says:

The way this post was written makes me think it could’ve been a lost episode of Axe Cop.

  20. kelseyisace says:

It’s nice to see Gothams finest not represented as head-scratching morons for a change.

  21. Rath says:

I reckon those guys might be working for Project Cadmus. I am basing that on absolutely nothing whatsoever.

  22. josh says:

man I cant wait for this game its gonna epic…thanks for the post
