The Ministry Of A Silly Minigame

It just looks so... familiar.

A chunk of Monty Python’s Ministry Of Silly Games is now available to play, even if you’re not on the beta. It’s essentially promotion for the game to be released next year, letting people play some of the minigames that will feature as standalone web content. The first of these that we’ve spotted is Camelot Smashalot. To say that it owes something to Crush The Castle and Angry Birds is like saying McDonald’s owes something to cattle. But heck, it’s more knocking stuff over gaming. To see my chat with Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam, in which they don’t talk about this game, click here. Did I mention that I’ve met Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam?

  1. Brumisator says:

Wow… that game is seriously bad and unoriginal…
Sorry for being so negative, I love Mony Python and all…but there are many much better versions of “crush the castle” out there in flashland.

    • Henke says:

Unoriginal, sure. But bad? I don’t think so. It’s pretty much exactly what I expected from a Monty Python webgame.

Can anyone else get past level 6? I just cannot see how it would be done.

  2. MadArcher says:

    John, it’s official : I hate you !

  3. Andreas says:

Like Angry Birds, but more bad.

  4. Mort says:

Sorry to post spam, but Men Of War is on sale again for 60% off / 5 EUR via
    link to

Just thought some people might want to know.

Maybe worth an official RPS mini-post, too. Also: hats!

    • Navagon says:

All the rest of 1C’s catalogue too. What’s the DRM like in that neck of the woods?

    • Hydrogene says:

UAZ 4×4 Racing is also on sale and curiously I find myself tempted to buy it. You just HAVE to love an entire game dedicated to the Ulyanovsk Automobile Factory !

    • Jason Moyer says:

      UAZ 6 o’clock.
      5 target UAZ.
      Oh no 1 is down.
      This is 2 taking command.
      UAZ is history.

  5. Navagon says:

Hmm yeah, blatant Crush the Castle rip-off. They’re not even trying to hide it. Armour Games can’t be pleased. They could at least have made it more Monty Python with a big foot stomping the castle out of existence. It wouldn’t have made for much of a game, but games are about rules and Monty Python is about breaking them.

  6. Lobotomist says:

One thing i would ask Monty Phytons : Do you listen to DEVO ?

  7. dc says:

Can I at least throw cows and curse at the people inside the castle?

  8. belstaff says:

    thanks for share with us

  9. Lobotomist says:

    This is bad….
Means we will have to return to the dreaded CAPTCHA :S

  10. Hmm-Hmm. says:

Congrats on that, John! It seemed like a pleasant interview.

  11. TWeaK says:

Right, I know I’m a bit late to the party, but am I the only one who can’t actually watch the interview? I first tried before this post was up (I think) and every time I just get ‘Video not available’.
