Is It SUPPOSED To Be Stick Dudes?

The only reson im giving this a 1 is beacuase the voices where pretty good. but thats it!

Essential viewing, folks. (Via half the bloody world on Twitter).

Oh, and while strict RPS policy is that we don’t accept freelance submissions – axman13, if you’re listening, please would you review something for us?

Posted on Reddit yesterday, on every other site on the internet today.

    Still funny though.

    • Alec Meer says:

Well done those other sites! Well done!

    • Theoban says:

This comment is terrible, I’ve seen all of these words before on other websites

    • megalomania says:

This comment is so terrible I’ve half a mind to make a flash animation based on a voice track of it.

    • Maykael says:

      What a shame!

    • Shadram says:

You mean this is a WHOLE DAY OLD? Well, that just invalidates the funny. Thanks for pointing that out.

    • psyk says:

      Submitted: 01/06/2011 | 11:12AM EST

      10 – 6 = 4

      so it’s 4 days old.

      That’s basic math dude.

    • Shadram says:

I was referring to the time difference between the reported Reddit post and it hitting “every other site on the internet”. But let’s not get into a war of pedantry here, it never leads to fun times. Let’s just go watch the animation again and revel in its wondrousness.

    • Flimgoblin says:

Not to be a horrible pedant… actually.. wait.. OK, being a horrible pedant: it was posted on newgrounds on the 6th, so frankly, internet, you can do better.

    • HexagonalBolts says:

Well good for you, I hadn’t seen it, Alec was doing it for the likes of me. Cheers pal!

    • sneetch says:

This News is not News?!? RPS is posting Olds?!?!

Burn down RPS! Show them our stranth!

    • Corrupt_Tiki says:

+1 to you haha, someone buy him a drink!

  3. subedii says:

I’m not sure I’m going to see anything as epic all the rest of this week, and possibly beyond.

  4. Alex Bakke says:

    ‘becuase’ did it for me.

    • WildcardUK says:

Me too! Absolute lost it at that point. Classic stuff!

    • by.a.teammate says:

the guy doing the VO deserves some kind of web based Oscar just for this section

    • Veret says:

I nominate “bee-ah-koo-ahz” for word of the year. I don’t care if it’s January.

    • Shadram says:

Oscar noms not announced yet, there’s still time to get him in there! I sense this guy will be getting a lot of voice over work offered to him in the very near future…

      BLAM this piece of crap!

  5. Pijama says:

Honestly, after that, I would humbly suggest that RPS-Hivemind consider doing special “Wot I Thinks” with Shakespearean voice acting! (John could do it, right?) Hell, find an actor with a passion for gaming in a small Hamlet production and it’s done!

It would set a new standard for the gaming culture as a whole! =D

    • Trans says:

      But without the ridiculous spelling.

Aaahahahahaha… “Prepare to Perish!”. This game is so esey, all you do is press space. Genius.

    • Thecreeperskg says:

The finishing move with -9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 points of damage is the thing…I mean who the fuck could ever survive that?? The Death Star? Cher?? Chuck Norris?? o.O

  6. Colthor says:

    Oh my word.

  7. Wilson says:

Bam! That showed them. Teach them to make a game saying it’s an RPG when it isn’t actually an RPG.

  8. mondomau says:

It kind of reminds me of the Half Life, Full Life Consequences.:
    link to
    Very good.

  9. RadioactiveMan says:

Not quite How is Babby Formed, but pretty good

  10. Premium User Badge

    Gassalasca says:

    Wait, who’s the voice dude?

    • Fede says:

From the “Author & File Information” box:
      Author (typography animation): Rice Pirate
      Voice: D-Mac-Double

      both are awesome

  11. Laneford says:

It’s the beacuase at the end that makes it poetry.

  12. Conor says:

Oh my God my ribs my eyes my everything

  13. Alaric says:

I am experiencing an unfamiliar sensation. Is it delight? Is it happiness? Is it … love? o.O

  14. The Hammer says:

Haha, has anyone played the game the review was about? It’s hilarious. Not as gloriously meta as Achievement Unlocked, but the “Inspired by Sony’s God of War” made me giggle.

…also, I’m going to be spending farrrr too much time looking back on the old entries to that “Angry Internet Men” tag…

  15. Severian says:

Best part about this was that it got me to link back to Super PSTW Action RPG and play it. What a f’ing brilliant game. And once you play it, Axman’s review becomes even more precious.

  16. Sander Bos says:

What a terrible review. I mean, based on my 5 minutes of playing
    link to
there are no voices in it at all? Did the reviewer even play that game??

[Edit: Crap, 1 minute player later and the voices start :-( Pretty good review then.]

    • Sander Bos says:

I am normally not a big fan of RPGs, but this one was pretty good!

    • The Hammer says:

Yeah, it was a bit of a hark back to the days of Daggerfall and Fallout 2, I thought! When RPGs had really choice to them!

  17. DevilSShadoW says:

oh god this is why i keep coming back to rps
to find gems like this one
    this was splendid.

  18. Shadram says:

Funniest animation on the internet ever. I can’t stop laughing. And I’m at work. That’s made my week!

  19. Urael says:

  29. Ramsar says:

Here’s the PM axman13 sent the flash maker:

  30. sfury says:

  31. Calabi says:

    That is epic.

  32. Gerbick says:

Just super. My wife ‘n kids think I’m mad, sat at my desk, tears streaming down my face and laughing so loud they had to turn the tv up. Made my week that has!

  33. dogsolitude_uk says:

It really makes you think: Carl Orff wrote an operatic work based on Neitzsche’s ‘Thus Spake Zarathustra’ at the age of 17 (IIRC)…

When I was that age I was struggling with A-Level Maths and working in Waitrose.

Incidentally, if you’ve got the whole of Orff’s Carmina Burana cantata on CD or something, it works really well when playing The Witcher. I was wondering round the swampy bit, and when I got into a fight with a bunch of drowned dead the second bit ‘Fortune plango vulnera’ kicked in with the trumpets.

You know, it was just one of those special moments…

The rest of it’s all about getting drunk and laid. Great stuff.

  34. Starky says:

    – How is this an RPG anyway?
    – In what way is this supposed to be an RPG?
    – What if I didn’t want to buy the potion?
    – Is it supposed to be stick dudes?

    All meme worthy…

And the voice over guys voice reminds me of something/someone/a character I can’t place and it is bugging the hell out of me.

    • The Hammer says:

You might be thinking of the old YTMND versus Ebaum’s World saga, Starky, when someone took Ebaum’s… inventive letter to YTMND’s founder, and voiced it all in hilariously theatrical tones.

Or I might just be totally off the mark.

    • Starky says:

Nope, not that – I dunno, for some reason my brain keeps telling me it is a cartoon, or a character in one…

Probably a bad guy, but meh that is far as my brain will take me.

    • Delusibeta says:

Are you thinking of the demon from the Reincarnation series of games? Certainly, he’s done a lot (see this demo reel: link to )

    • Shadram says:

He sounds to me a bit like Christopher Biggins trying to impersonate Brian Blessed. Definitely an undertone of campness there, which makes the whole thing a lot more special in my head. I want to hear this guy’s voice on everything now.

    • Shadram says:

I’ve got it! He sounds like John Lithgow in 3rd Rock when he gets mad. Or as Farquad in Shrek. Watch the above-mentioned demo reel, though, this guy’s really, really good. I’m talking Billy West good. So many perfect voices, and he’s only 22…

    • Starky says:

Damn he is pretty good… someone needs to hire him.

Beats the piss out of Nolan North anyway.

Though he’s not even close to Steve Blum or Simon Templeman (who really should be much more famous and doing movies) – but they are gods amongst voice over artists.

    • Urthman says:

The way he says beacuase reminds me a lot of the way Strong Bad reads the typos in his e-mails.

  35. Jac says:

    Absolutely immense.

From now on i’ll be reading every comment section on the internet in that voice.

  36. Zanchito says:

Awesome, both the dynamic text and the narrator. He should earn a living from that voice talent!!!

  37. Atic Atac says:

Wow, Just looked up the dude doing the voicework and he’s basically just a 22 year old guy trying to make it in cartoon voiceovers and such. This guys has more vocal talents in his left toe than that Ted Williams hobo! Here’s hoping the internet will make him famous as well…

  38. GoodPatton says:

Here’s hoping RPS gets an axman13 exclusive, and he’s still semi-illiterate!

  39. Pianosaurus says:

I’m going to name my cat “Worthles”, in honour of axman13.

    • Shadram says:

Get 2 cats: Pepole and Worthles. The lolcats-like sitcom writes itself.

  40. Bassism says:

    Oh my christ.

  41. Duffin says:

I’m not sure why but that had me in stitches.

  42. TomSmizzle says:

The pronunciation of ‘beacuase’ is goddamn brilliant.
I will never say because again.

  43. TomSmizzle says:

The pronunciation of ‘beacuase’ is goddamn brilliant.
I will never say because again.

  44. Arathain says:

Gosh darn it Alec, I can’t laugh because my wife’s trying to sleep. Now my chest hurts.

  45. adonf says:

    Sometimes I don’t understand the Internet :(

  46. MadTinkerer says:

    lol :)

  47. Lightbulb says:

Anyone else played the game? Actually not too bad. Make a pretty serious point about linearity and simplicity of console RPG’s.

  48. Calabi says:

For some reason it reminds me of Monty Python, same sort of tone and rythm.

  49. F4T C4T says:

Can’t stop listening to it today. It cracks me up every damn time! Probably beacuase the voices where pretty good. but that’s it!
