Oh Yes: That Next-Gen Unreal Footage

Quintin posted about the latest posing from the Unreal engine last week, but lamented the lack of a video with which to demonstrate this new-era graphical clout. Now we can do that. Behold – the worrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrld of tomorrow!

Update: New, shinier one!

HD version here, if you like.

(Old, shakycam version:)

This comes via VentureBeat, which also busts out superlatives such as “jaw-dropping” in regard to the engine here.

It’s very violent. Why must all graphical shinies involve blowing holes in policemans’ heads? If I were a big, giant, stompy robot, I’d be pissed off at the ciggy flicker too.

  2. duffers says:

The more I see of Epic, the more I’m sure it’s 13 year old boys in charge of the company. In this case, with a nostalgic penchant for cyberpunk. There’s about as much creativity in this as there was in my last shit. Also, did Liam Neeson agree to his likeness making an appearence?

  3. bill says:

Looked much more interesting in screenshots when it looked like bladerunner – but it’s just typical Epic 12 year old action power fantasies..

  4. WulfTheSaxon says:

If this is Unreal Engine 3.975, can we please get Unreal Tournament 3.975?

  5. outoffeelinsobad says:

Cool textures, but the coat fabric looks stupid. Uncanny Valley remains unbridged.

  6. RegisteredUser says:

Now just imagine how awesome the games using it will look after readjusting for hardware requirements of 5 year old consoles!

Haw shea, teh gfx powah of teh futures is nao!

    That’s the sneakiest deathbot ever!

I thought the lighting and specular effects were top-notch
