Superstar Siblings: Rush Bros Demo

Would you rather cause a crowd of people to move as one, surrendering their bodies to a primal need that is the closest many of them will come to a spiritual experience, or unblock a toilet? Being a DJ is six hundred million times more amazing than being a plumber, so it stands to reason that Rush Bros is a much better game than anything starring Mario and his moustache. It’s not really a traditional platformer though, with a focus on two player splitscreen action and levels that are essentially side-scrolling races. There’s a demo available (Mac and PC) and a trailer below.

Three cheers for splitscreen games and one cheer for having an early night on a Friday for once because I am very tired indeed.

  1. The Random One says:

That whole thing of a crowd moving as one made me think this post was going to be, somehow, about Syndicate. And then I cried.

  2. Kobest says:

Just tried out the demo, and I have two things to say:

    1. The soundtrack is fantastic, if you like this genre, it’s a must buy once it’s released.

    2. The controls are floaty. :( Anyone have the same problem? Perhaps because I was playing in windowed mode with the Unity engine crashing in full screen, but at the moment and at least for me, the player responsiveness is far away from that of Super Meat Boy. :(

  3. Phasma Felis says:

I now want a mod that turns the characters into neon plumbers.

or at least tacks mustaches on them.

  4. miso1337 says:

Wouldn’t Sonic 2’s head to head mode be a better comparison for the article? I’ve never seen any Mario gameplay that’s remotely similar to this. Sonic 2’s two-player race mode is exactly the same however.

  5. Emeraude says:

Really need to get around and try that. Always wanted a platform game to takes its place between Twinkle Star Sprites, Tetris Battle Gaiden and Bomberman for those long sunny afternoon with friends.
