One Thousand-Player Bomberman: Bombermine

This seems like something that must have happened before… Deja vu! Anyway, this is also one of those games you should play before it (as will presumably happen since this doesn’t seem to be anything to do with Konami) it gets taken off-line and/or rebranded six months later as something else. Bombermine is a browser version of Bomberman with 1000 people online on vast, regenerating maps. Just put your name in and jump in. I’m playing it right now! Bomb me up.

argh, i had a perfectly valid reason to achieve nothing this afternoon :(

      • El_MUERkO says:

played for a half hour, shit got crazy with pacman eating the world and then everyone started turning into nyancat, great fun

    • JohnnyK says:

Not to shit on RPS’ reach, but the game was posted to reddit today and is currently the topvoted post on /r/WebGames, which probably has more to do with it being down than this article.

  2. apocraphyn says:

Some days, you just can’t get rid of a bomb…

  3. Dana says:

    Dynablaster sounds more rad.

  4. Peter Radiator Full Pig says:

    To Jim Rossignol;
    Sir, you are being hunted.

  5. Screwie says:

    Oh wow, my childhood.

    This is so, so awesome.

  6. Low Life says:

The graphics keep glitching for me, making the game unplayable :(

  7. rocketman71 says:

    Badly needs a downloadable/LAN version.

  8. thekyshu says:

Seems like the website is down :( Or only loads to a certain point for me, anyways.

  9. aliksy says:

I remember a bomberman online I played a lot of back in, like, 1999. Was on some french-sounding site, and it was a lot of fun when it worked. This is exciting.

    Poor Ace of spades.

  11. neolith says:

Oh, this is good. This is soooo good. I only wish you couldn’t move diagonally. But still: very good.

I have very fond memories of me and four friends playing Bomberman on the Amiga500 until someone fell alseep.

I still don’t understand the “random square block spawning” mechanic, but it can screw you over.

  15. noodlecake says:

Hmmm. I’m just getting a blank screen for some reason. Sad times. :(

    Oh wow, this is awesome!

I used have a lot of fun with Bomberman 2 back in my SNES days, and this is making me very nostalgic.

  18. Flappybat says:

    Nyancat is the best transfomation!

  19. Exostenza says:

This is completely amazing and I will playing this for thousands of years. If they could get a few people on one computer with 4 controllers split screen up on t here it would be AMAZING.

Super fun times thanks dudes at whatever site this is.

  20. pupsikaso says:

Sounded like it would be something very interesting and fun, but trying it… it’s not very good. People can move diagonally and they can even push your bombs.

  21. Gargenville says:

Almost as good as Bomberman Act Zero

  22. Don Reba says:

Oh, what fun! If only it was not so laggy.
