I Knew It: Telepath Tactics Demo Released

“What am I, a mind reader?” is the kind of hilarious joke I’d crack if I did have telepathic powers, trying to shirk responsibility for casually smashing my flatmate’s favourite mug (the final gift from their dead gran) while making it clear that I don’t care if they’re upset: I’m better than them.

I haven’t played Telepath Tactics [official site] so I don’t know what the tactical RPG is about. Is it about using telepathy to uncover exactly what will rile up your flatmates most? Alec’s Wot I Think suggests not. If you fancy turn-based squad action rather than petty cruelty, you can see for yourself as a demo is now out for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Developer Sinister Design explains that the demo “gives you the first handful of battles and cut scenes from the main campaign, plus a local multiplayer 1-v-1 you can play against the computer on the Little Lava Cave map using 5 of the game’s 23 base character classes.” Right-o!

Alec, meanwhile, said in his review:

“Telepath Tactics, appropriately, has a beautiful mind. The rest of it is harder to admire, but even so, this is a game that people who crave patience, precision and strategy from their roleplaying battles are going to take to their hearts. In its quiet way, this is a huge game – big fights, lethal consequences, wide array of combat possibilities… Fire Emblem fans would love it, probably. I wouldn’t know.”

That might be worth a look, then.
