Hide & Seek & Murder: Badblood's Local Multiplayer Action

More than just a middling Taylor Swift single (seriously, that’d be your, what, seventh pick for a single off 1989?), Badblood [official site] is a split-screen local multiplayer stealth murderfest. Like the FPS Screencheat, Badblood isn’t ruined by people peeking at their opponent’s side but rather relies on it.

It’s a simple premise: two players are sneaking through long grass trying to find and murder each other, invisible until they strike. Each player’s side of the screen is rotated differently, though, meaning you need to carefully figure out where they are and try not to give your own position away. Due later this year, it looks a right lark in this new video:

Get it? You’re both invisible on each other’s side, but can figure out where they are by looking at landmarks on the level. Good that, innit? You have cooldowns between attacks too, so you better be sure when you strike.

It’s got four classes, each with special abilities like a flashbang and bloodhounds. Along with 1v1 dual murders, it’ll have a mode where players take turns being the hider and the murderer, trying to evade them for 30 seconds before swapping over.

Creator Winnie Song plans to release Badblood later this year, some time from September onwards, on Windows and Mac. She’s having a crack at Steam Greenlight right now.
