We’re Giving Away 300,000 Copies Of Cult Of The Wind

Cult of the Wind [official site] is a third-person multiplayer shooter in which your character casts their arms wide and pretends that they’re an airplane. You need to be moving in order to shoot and you can briefly morph into an actual plane in order to launch yourself short distances. It’s silly and simple and we’re giving away 300,000 copies of it for free below.

Here’s the game’s launch trailer, so you can see what you’re getting yourself into:

The widget below will dispense your key, care of Bundle Stars, in exchange for your email address. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, but you will also need to authorise a Coupon app on Facebook. It’ll only see the elements of your profile that are publicly available, and is used to confirm that you’re a real person and not a spider planning on taking all the keys and reselling them. We don’t collect your data or use it for anything else, and you can remove the app again afterwards via your Facebook app settings.

The giveaway is first-come, first-served and the widget below will close down once all the codes are gone. If you do get in quick and receive a key, it should be dispensed to your email address within an hour. That email will come from BundleStars with the subject line, “Your Cult of the Wind Steam key is here!”. Your email address won’t be used for anything else ever again (unless you select to sign up to the newsletter below).

If you like free stuff, consider liking us on Facebook or following us on Twitter below to find out about these giveaways first.

How do I redeem my key?

1. You’ll need a free Steam account, if you don’t have one already. Signup and download the client at steampowered.com.
2. Within the client, click ‘Games’ at the top and then ‘Activate a Product on Steam…’.
3. Enter your Steam key when prompted. It will then be added to your account and you can decide to install it immediately by choosing a location. Enjoy!

Psst! Fancy reading some reviews, guides or permadeath diaries about Fallout 4 while you’re here?

  1. dangermouse76 says:

Yeah bagged one, cheers, I like stuff !

  2. Kemuel says:

Widget doesn’t seem to be working. Guess it might just be overloaded or something.

  3. GernauMorat says:

    Thank you!

  4. artrexdenthur says:

“Casts their arms wide and pretends that they’re an airplane…”
I was dead sure you were joking for a minute there. It makes me unreasonably happy that you were not. Thanks for the key!

  5. DeVadder says:

Obligatory post mentioning that not everyone has a Facebook Account or wants to create a fake one just so you can verify that I exist.

Could you not allow supporters to get these without all this social marketing? Seeing how you probably already know that I exist and all?

    • rabbit says:

‘i don’t want to have to bother spending 10 minutes creating a fake profile in order to get free gifts’

      • DeVadder says:

Nah, it is in fact way worse. “Bah, I oppose the establishment of a private run company as de-facto standard for social interaction and pointlessly insist on my principles!”

        • alw says:

I am not a Facebook account, I am a free man!

        • rabbit says:

you forgot ‘…which is why i want this key to put on my steam account and have my definitely not monolithic corporate benefactors allow me access to this game’

    • April March says:

I don’t mind the Facebook requirement as long as they are properly apologetic about it, which they seem to be on it. Of course, I’m not getting the game either way, because I’m not creating even a fake FB account (since FB can track you anyway and it takes like thirty days for the account to be deleted, and I can’t be sure they wouldn’t be able to collate my data from several fakes I created, so I’d essentially be giving them my data without even getting access to my mom’s cat pics in exchange).

  6. Gotem says:

I looks like an ‘slap everyone in the face’ simulator

  7. skabb15 says:

lol, must be a crappy game

  8. Baines says:

300,000 free copies? That can’t be healthy for a game.

I’m guessing that they have to do it in an attempt to get enough of an online player base in place just to get others to actually buy into the game. (And I wonder how many people who participate in the giveaway will ever actually play the game that they get, much less play it enough to actually create that player base.)

    • KDR_11k says:

AFAIK it sold REALLY badly so yeah, this is to kickstart the online playerbase.

    • carewolf says:

All the Steam reviews both the positive and negative seems to state that the game is good, but that it is hard to recommend because there is noone to play it with.

    • Erfeo says:

Presumably Bundle Stars bought a bulk load of keys for cheap, so the devs are getting at least some money out of this.

    • Wisq says:

I suppose it’s a bit of a reminder that gaming has moved past that brief period where just being really super weird was pretty much enough to guarantee success.

  9. Hunk says:

    Ugh, Facebook. No.

  10. seroto9 says:

I don’t have a Facebook account. There, I said it.

  11. Sturek says:

Just tried it. I think this can be a lot of fun. A bit silly, weird movement, but a unique look and well done on the whole. There just seems to be an issue with the Mac version or something as I cannot bring up chat or change my name.

  12. Warduke says:

    Facebook.. Ugh

  13. slerbal says:

I still don’t use Facebook and my life is better in every way :)

Good luck to the devs though – hope the promotion helps even if it does use FB.

  14. slerbal says:

As a lapsed Supporter who got a bit fed up with the repeated assertions of “Not only that, becoming a Supporter means you’ll get regular free gifts” would it not make sense to just give all your current supporters a free key without the other BS?

Seriously. Either that, or remove that line because it just ain’t true.

  15. TacoFox says:

I was willing to give you my email, not join facebook.

  16. Admiral says:

    Thanks for teh free stuff!

  17. Replikant says:

Sounds fun, but I don’t have a Facebook account and that is not going to change.

  18. Jakkar says:

Well, one can certainly see why this game is free.

It’s a bit rubbish. Poorly presented, sense of light-hearted fun totally absent in sterile, bland presentation. No impact, no velocity, no sense of physicality. Nothing about it in terms of feel, sight or sound is compelling in the slightest.

Not even worth the time you’d spend playing it, methink.

  19. Stormbow says:

Didn’t work for me. No key seems to have been generated.

  20. arpovpolik says:

I can’t believe someone remember this nice game. Thank you

  21. thelastpointer says:

I am so proud of everyone who doesn’t have a Facebook account! You’re the best! Bonus points for letting everyone know. Keep up the good work!

    • purex. says:

It makes my life better knowing what others choose not to do. Being constantly reminded that they do so and that their choices are better than others is the cherry on top.

  22. treehero123 says:

For those who complain about Facebook, it’s really ridiculous the complaining you make.

    1. Creating a Facebook account is not the end of the world
    2. You only need 1 Facebook account.

Some of you guys say how that you don’t want to use your face book account to like the page, then make a new one. There should not be a reason you wouldn’t use a fake Facebook account just to like a page.

I want to say that you did come here for the game right? So quickly make a new email and Facebook account and just use that one over and over. Just 1.

If Facebook is a blockade to getting steam keys then I don’t know what else to say.

  23. ZAGAZAA says:

i didnt receive my key :( and i used multiple different emails still cant receive one im followed on twitter,Google+,Steam Every thing my friend got her key instantly but i cant get mine why is this?

    • VoxDeiAC says:

i had the same problem.. but i did yesterday.. :( gmai and hotmail + facebook.. i saw thr triler and it looks great :D i want it :c

  24. Likethiss says:

You should just stay away from things like this… The game is “released” and costs 9,99$ Yet there is ZERO value for money and it seems like something you’d make as a unity tutorial. And they give away 300,000 keys just to get their playerbase seem bigger, so someone might get fooled into buying the game when looking at steam stats. So basically i see the whole thing as a very unpleasant scam.
