GTA Online Will Go Hog-Wild In Bikers Update

“It’s not really a place, it’s a feeling,” biker icon James Hurley once said of his dream destination. “Sometimes riding at night, I punch off the headlights and roll the throttle in just rocket blind into the dark.”

But some bikers are dirty boys. They cuss, smoke cigarettes, refuse to tuck their shirts, and don’t even kiss their mothers goodbye. These rough tough scruffs congeal into gangs, roaring down the highway honking their hogs and yelling e.g. “Hey you, go on, get out of it!” Don’t you find that secretly thrilling? If so, watch for the next major Grand Theft Auto Online [official site] update, which will focus on bikers and bike gangs.

The ‘Bikers’ update will let up to eight dirty boys start their own Motorcycle Club, Rockstar say. They explain:

“Bikers will introduce new roles to play from fresh Prospects to club Presidents with a massive slate of new competitive and co-op gameplay, along with a range of new motorcycles, properties that include MC Clubhouses with a special custom Biker mechanic, and venues for seedy business ventures.”

Fingers crossed I’ll become Club Treasurer! I’ll spend all our money on gel pens to design our cool tattoos. Oh, yes, of course the update will also bring new tattoos, biker gear, weapons and whatnot.

It sounds like the update will also bring new bicycling activities for clean boys who don’t want to join a ‘Club’.

This sounds nice but dang, after reading about the million people playing weird GTA: San Andreas in multiplayer with custom modes, GTA Online does seem a little empty.

That said, obviously I intend to start my own gang. I’m thinking Rude Ladies With Cool Jackets.

Rockstar haven’t said quite when Bikers will launch.

No singleplayer DLC for GTA5 has made me endlessly depressed.

    • montorsi says:

Like GTAIV, expect singleplayer DLC to be more of a massive expansion instead of this stuff which is much easier to toss together for online play.

      • nottorp says:

Speaking of single player, is it still possible to play the SP part of Gta V without ever signing up for any of their online crap? On console, at least. I’ve been burned by Max Payne before…

        • Massenstein says:

I’m under that impression, yeah. I have zero interest in multiplayer unless it’s cop-op with friends, but fooling around with single player mods in that big city could be good time once the game arrives in a decent sale.

        • Janichsan says:

Yes, absolutely. You can’t even create an GTO account before having started the single player.

      • BillyBantam says:

Sadly it looks like there will never be any single player DLC for GTA V. GTA Online is a cash cow for Rockstar and apparently the whole GTA V dev team has been moved onto that.

        • gunny1993 says:

Is it a cash cow though? I mean, what is there to buy, I guess the dlc make some money, but I can’t image it’s a a massive amount

          • Janichsan says:

Apparently yes. I forgot the exact number, but it seems they are making tons of money by selling… well… money. In-game money, that is.

          • KastaRules says:

            Shark cash cards.

      • BlazeHedgehog says:

It’s been three years. There isn’t going to be singleplayer DLC for GTA5.

        • P.Funk says:

Which is too bad because I enjoyed the Ballad of Gay Tony way more than the main story.

    • FlameHunter says:

Many players is depressed about it… But microtransaction sir… microtransaction… sadly future of gamedev ;(

  2. aircool says:

Will it be just stupid, fat motorcycles, or will sports motorcycles be part of it?

  3. Bullfrog says:

Stupid James and his stupid bog brush hair and stupid monotone face.

  4. MrBehemoth says:

Dear Alice, will boys be allowed to join Rude Ladies With Cool Jackets? I am a boy, and I am also both a fan of Rude Ladies and of Cool Jackets.

  5. ZbiDebi says:

Yes! Finally! Real dlc for real biker-lovers!

    • inspiredhandle says:

Has been a long time coming. Fingers crossed for an H2 ripoff. Sadly I suspect that it’ll just be more damn cruisers.
