Metaphora Looks Super Cute And Super Weird

Hervé Masseron and Roxane Domalain formed Mooneycat Entertainment after leaving Ubisoft Montpellier. It’s a good thing they did, because the studio’s upcoming first game, Metaphora [official website], looks too cute to be believed. Just look at how these cubes with mouse ears chase the other cubes with other distinguishing characteristics!

Watch the trailer and you’ll see. There’s actually a meaning to it all, believe it or not. You take up the role of LUX, a small star that has fallen from the sky who apparently squeezes glowing cubes out of his butt that turn into plants. There also looks to be some Space Station Silicon Valley action going on with the wildlife as LUX can take on the form of the cube-shaped, one-eyed mouse things that occupy the planet he’s landed on.

The game is slated to be procedurally generated (but what isn’t these days?), and your fight against the NEOVIRUS, which is corrupting the world of Metaphora, should be different in each playthrough. If you’re aching to play Metaphora though, you might have a while to wait. The game is currently in pre-alpha with no definite launch date.
