Giveaway: 10,000 Gigantic Closed Beta Keys

Gigantic is a 5 vs. 5 multiplayer game in which the teams are both accompanied by a gigantic monster. You’re thinking, “5 vs. 5? Oh, it’s one of those MO–“. Wait, no: it’s got no lanes, towers, or creeps. It’s a third-person class-based shooter. (“Oh, it’s one of tho–” Yes.) It sounds pretty cool.

We’ve got 10,000 keys for this weekend’s Windows 10 closed beta test, which you can enter below.

Here’s a trailer:

That widget below will dispense your key in exchange for three actions: looking at our Facebook page for a moment, following us on Twitter, or following us on YouTube. We like it when you follow us places, basically.

RPS Giveaway: 10,000 Gigantic beta keys

Yes, it’s Windows 10 and therefore Windows Store only.

If you want to read more about the game, you can check out Pip’s interview with creative director James Phinney. Phinney previously co-created StarCraft and was the lead designer on Guild Wars.

The final release isn’t going to be Windows 10 only is it? Had my eye on this for a while, would hate to miss out.

      From their site:
Q: What platforms can you play Gigantic on?
A: Windows 10, PC and Xbox One

As pointed out by durruti, you’ll need to download the Arc game client. It’s like that for other Perfect World games on Steam, too.

Wonder how many of these we’ll see in the next 2-3 years, offering a “x vs x players WE ARE NOT MAKING A MOBA” and a hero roster of exactly the same heroes with different looks?

    *sigh* trends in gaming :|

(Assuming you are comparing it to overwatch style gameplay)

It really doesn’t play anything like overwatch or pretty much any other game I have got my hands on before. I see where you are coming from but “team game with characters that have abilities” doesn’t really strike me as a carbon copy genre.

Maybe motiga ought to put more actual gameplay footage into trailers instead of jump cutting every five seconds. Here is a hero spotlight thingy they just released if that helps make my point about difference in gameplay clearer: link to youtube.com

It’s a little wierd that to redeem a key, you have to click on a little picture of your own face.

The Windows store isn’t very intuitive.

    • TinySquish says:

It also has VPN protection (no idea if this is the technical term), so when you click “redeem a code” it loads for a second and then closes the entire app. There’s no warning message like when using Netflix or even a generic “cannot connect.”

They just assume “Oh, you’re CLEARLY trying to bypass some region locking(?). There is no other reason you would be using a VPN.”

    Launch “Windows Store.”
Oh, so I guess I’ll sit that one out :)

      Exactly my thoughts :)

Same here. I don’t even have anything against the Windows Store in principle, it’s just that whenever I try to download something on it it tries to send it to my non-existent Xbox One. So I think it’ll be better the code goes to someone who actually knows how to download the damn thing.

Redeemed one before actually reading it was for Windows 10 only so you can have it: T7CMJ-R2QK4-422HT-MMPKM-X3CPZ

  6. durruti says:

apparently the game is available through perfect worlds arc platform whatever thingy as well as windows live and/or store and thus runs on 64bit windows 7 upwards.

There are other places with the giveaway for the ARC client if you don’t have win10. There’s a list of them on their subreddit:
