Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries visual novel out this year

Waiiit hold on, the Fighting Fantasy gamebook folks are making a visual novel based on Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries – the finest detective comedy-drama on television these days? Gosh! Yes, Tin Man Games plan to release Miss Fisher and the Deathly Maze [official site] this year and I’m so on board. Phryne Fisher, Melbourne’s leading lady detective, is basically Bruce Wayne without the deranged dual personality. Blessed with wealth but burdened by a murder in the family, the fun-loving flapper fights crime, drives a fancy car, flies a plane, adopts orphans, pulls hunks, keeps a dagger in her garter, and looks ruddy amazing all the time oh my stars the costuming!

Miss Fisher and the Deathly Maze will see Phryne jaunting across the globe on the trail of the man who seemingly killed her sister, accompanied by her assistant Dot and ol’ Detective Inspector Jack Robinson. It’ll come in episodes, each focusing on one murder while building into a larger arc.

This is clearly taking its look from the TV show rather than the original novels, which is grand because Essie Davis is divine. The show’s composer, Greg J Walker, is involved too.

Miss Fisher is the first visual novel from Tin Man, who so far have been more gamebook-y. The first episode will hit pocket telephones on February 8th but I don’t believe Tin Man have confirmed a release date for the Windows and Mac version yet.

All three seasons of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries are on Netflix, by the way. I highly recommend it. Fun fact it took me ages to notice: Essie Davis, who plays Phyrne, was also the mother in The Babadook. Those are two mighty different roles there.

Tin Man are quite suited to this, being from Melbourne and also murderers in the Roaring Twenties.

Is it all dialogue, or does the investigation include gathering clues from crime scenes too?
