Don’t watch this Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City trailer

Bandai Namco have released a new trailer for the final Dark Souls 3 [official site] DLC, The Ringed City, and I don’t think you should watch it. It combines a load of gameplay clips showing locations, enemies, bosses, and other things that would surely be a lot more fun to discover yourself in-game. This is the end, my friend. The very last bit of Dark Souls as far as we know. Why flick a few pages ahead? I’ll post it, for people who refuse to know better, but I suggest you instead brew a cup of tea. Don’t click “Read the rest of this entry »”. Off you go. Bye now. Ta ta.

FLIPPING TYPICAL.

Fine then.

I wish I hadn’t watched that myself. I did it for you, gang.

Fine, but don’t watch this VaatiVidya vid with the ‘Tube man talking about a preview version he played. Don’t do it! You little monsters.

Bamco have said that The Ringed City “has players chasing after the Slave Knight Gael to the literal end of the world as he searches for the Dark Soul of Humanity”. In the DLC’s announcement, they explained:

“At the close of the Age of Fire, as the world ends and all lands converge upon themselves, a lone adventurer descends into the madness of the earth and uncovers the secrets of the past. As players make their way to the fabled Ringed City they will encounter ancient beasts, a new cast of characters teetering on the edge of insanity, new armor, weapons, magic, and at the bottom of it all, a long lost city filled with new horrors for players to overcome.”

The Ringed City is coming on March 28th. It’ll cost £11.99/14,99€/$14.99 or come in the £19.99/24,99€/$24.99 DLC season pass with the first expansion, Ashes of Arandiel. Ashes wasn’t amazing but is still, y’know, Dark Souls, so probably go for both?

Yeah, I understand why how seeing so many different enemies could be slightly spoilery.
But me personally? Doesn’t matter because I have enjoyed pretty much all Souls games as livestreams, because I just simply suck as a player.

But I can’t wait for all the lore that’s going to be dug out of this one!
There aren’t enough games that have “End of the world” settings. Not the “Apocalypse” things that we are so accustomed to nowadays, but as a person in the medieval times would have envisioned it.

“…as he searches for the Dark Soul of Humanity.”

Is the series really going to end with someone looking contemplatively off into the sunset, and saying “I guess those really were some… Dark Souls?”

There are pokemons in Dark Souls now? I sware I’ve seen a few. And BIGFIREBAT boss! So original.))

No really, that boss mechanic a motion design is intense and very spectacular! Escaped from pretty good Bloodborne game I believe.

This will likely be the last Souls bit, sadly. Will it wrap stuff up, I wonder?

  5. Snowskeeper says:

If there’s no Nito lore in this, I will be sad. We still know almost nothing about him, despite the fact that he was supposedly one of the three original discoverers of the flame.
