Giveaway: 280 games from GOG’s Valentine’s sale

GOG’s Valentine’s Day sale is currently underway, offering discounts on the 70 games which are most often added to user wishlists. The sale is due to run for the next six days, and for the next week we’re running a competition (hereby referred to as the “compo”) where you can win one of the games currently on sale.

The games we’ve got to give away are: System Shock 2, System Shock Enhanced Edition, Hotline Miami, Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy, The Solus Project, Master of Orion, This War of Mine, Grim Dawn and Darkest Dungeon. We’ve 280 keys altogether, which means the compo will have 280 winners.

The widget below will let you enter into the compo in exchange for one of three actions: looking at our Facebook page for a moment, following us on Twitter, or following us on YouTube. We like it when you follow us places, basically. The winners will then be drawn randomly on Tuesday, February 21st and contacted via email with their code shortly thereafter. You can enter into the compo more than once, if you like.

I love me some free giveaways :D

  3. GameCat says:

Don’t enter, it’s just an evil scheme to clog your backlog with so many games that you will never finish.

    • iRaphi says:

you can’t fool me, I just bought the freedom bundle from humble bundle so 1 more is nothing on my backlog… ;)

    • Darth Gangrel says:

It’s far too late for me, so adding more games are just a drop in the sea. However, on principle I don’t buy games or even try to win them if they’re not something I really want.

Grim Dawn sounds good, but I’m not pining for an action-RPG right now and already got System Shock 2. I probably don’t wanna get System Shock Enhanced Edition until I’ve played SS2, which is far away as I’m going through my Steam backlog right now and the others are of no interest.

I never win competitions anyway, so it’s better if I don’t even try joining this thing (also not a fan of the “follow us on social media to enter this contest” contests).

This sale’s a goodun’. Grabbed the Enhanced editions of BG, BG2, and IWD, plus Superhot, for $34. Sadly the new Dragonspear expansion isn’t on sale, so I’m gonna wait for that. Its got pretty mixed reviews anyway.

Buying a game on GOG filled me with pleasure hormones knowing that the RPS Hivemind has recently declared Steam an enemy to our harmonious and righteous collective.

Using social media isn’t worth the possible reward.

    compo? very YS, I approve.

  7. ButteringSundays says:

It’s not a bad sale, but looking at all the top titles it’s all stuff that has been on sale recently for the same price (or less) on Steam and the Humble store. Given the way they’re selling it I was expecting to see some new (to the sales) titles.

    • phlebas says:

I guess those are the games people add to their wishlists – maybe they see them in a sale elsewhere but would rather have them on GOG so wishlist them there, the way I add things to my Humble wishlist after seeing them on Steam.

Interesting how high a proportion are recent games rather than the classics GOG was originally set up for – I guess that’s a bit weighted by several of the recent ones taking up 3-4 slots each for the multiple versions available, but still noticeable.

Can’t enter, it accepts my entry, refreshes and then…nothing.

  9. April March says:

The entry for looking at their FB page is literally for looking at their FB page. I don’t have FB and was able to get it.

I liked it. Cheers, RPS. CheeRPS.

Completed all 3 of the ways, can not get a redeem code :( Is it magic or something?

    • Landiss says:

This is a test. Only people who read the article will know more.

  11. Luperts says:

Doesn’t let me enter. Simply tells me over and over to log into my connected accounts although I’ve already done so.

  12. Halk says:

    >Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy

    Thanks for nothing.
