Distraint 2 bringing more businessman horror this year

What hope is there for someone who’s done terrible, callous things to gain success? I’m asking for a friend. Also in relation to Distraint 2 [official site], a follow-up to 2015’s side-scrolling psychological horror game about a chap securing a company partnership by turfing an elderly woman out her home. Creator Jesse Makkonen recently announced it for release around Halloween this year, describing it as “Silent Hill + Zelda + Monkey Island”. Here, have a watch:

That’s yer mood-setting announcement trailer. Makkonen says:

“Distraint 2 follows the events of the first game. It’s a sinister tale about restoring hope and finding your purpose.

“How does one fight without hope?”

I wish Adam weren’t swanning off around San Francisco, not a care nor crowded interview schedule in the world, as this seems like something he’d have played and I’d like to bug him about it. I know he liked the look of the first one, at least.

Here, this Distraint 2 gameplay video shows off a spot of puzzling, poking, and spooking:

Makkonen plans to launch Distraint 2 around Halloween this year. He’s currently having a crack at Steam Greenlight. The first Distraint has is on sale right now too, with an 85% discount bringing it down to £0.55/0,69€/$0.69. Makkonen’s Silence of the Sleep is on sale and all.

This is a pretty neat game I played on my Android phone. It wasn’t earth shattering or amazingly good, but it was interesting (which makes it better than most of the crap out there on mobile). Looking forward to this!

“What hope is there for someone who’s done terrible, callous things to gain success?” A lot of hope, given the state of the world and its history, but that’s just my personal opinion.
