The Walking Dead S3E3 shambling out next week

After kicking off with a two-parter in December, Telltale’s shambling story ’em up The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier [official site] will continue with Episode 3: Above The Law on Tuesday. If you’re expecting a cheery episode with Clem riding around on the shoulders of police officers and judges, you might be disappointed. Going by the trailer announcing this launch date, Above the Law is all drama and distrust. See:

Here’s what Telltale say about the episode:

“After the shocking events of ‘Ties That Bind: Part Two’, Javier struggles to find a role in his newly reunited family. Meanwhile, tension within the walls of Richmond grow. Will Clementine and the rest of the group turn against Javier? It may be time to choose between the family you’re born into and the family you’ve made…”

Those “shocking events” might be John’s Wot I Think. He did not like it. “It’s pure agony at this point that they’re re-running the exact same bloody plots yet again for a third five-part series, as if they weren’t miserably worn out before even Telltale scooped them up off the floor and blew off the crust and fluff,” and other such words. Some of those other words are swear words!

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier – The Game; Not TV: By Telltale – Based On ‘The Walking Dead’ By Robert Kirkman – An Episodic Video Game Series: Episode 3: Above The Law, A Telltale Episode is coming Tuesday, March 28th. The season pass costs 18.99/22,99€/$24.99 or thereabouts on Steam and GOG.

If you could get John to play it and give some impressions I’d appreciate it.

“It may be time to choose between the family you’re born into and the family you’ve made…” Sounds like a repeat of the second series and I’d like to confirm that TTG are still flogging their misery horse.

  2. DuncUK says:

We all know John hated it, but is it possible to get Alec Meer to share his thoughts on the series? He “mostly enjoyed the second season” (link to and so might be a better person to objectively review the 3rd season. Or Alice for that matter, it looks like you’ve posted your fair share of Walking Dead articles?

    • DuncUK says:

Adam Smith not Alec… ugh, too many tabs open.

    • N'Al says:

      ‘objectively review’

      • Ghostwise says:

        It’s like “military intelligence”.

      • DuncUK says:

Good point, I meant ‘independently’. An objective review would be pretty boring.

    • haldolium says:

It really is rather bad so far.

Maybe wait for a review after the season is finished since they would need the combined power of all upcoming episodes to make up for the awful start.
