Vijver gives you a tiny pond to sit beside

Because Alice and I send each other links to nature things prefaced simply with the recipient’s name in all caps, Vijver arrived with just “PIP” as the accompanying information. It is an entry from Ludum Dare 38, whose theme is “A Small World”, and it just gives you a little pond to watch. I am giving it to you to watch too:

‘Vijver’ means pond which seems like a reasonable thing to call a project where you look at a pond. I put it on my second monitor for a while and pretended I was sitting near a rather loud garden feature! You can download it free of charge via developer Celine Veltman’s page. The game jam itself is on for another few hours but I’ll probably be poking around in the submissions over the remainder of the week!

  1. Pogs says:

Thank goodness you showed me this PIP. The water in my pond has gone green. I shall look at this instead and ignore my pond for a bit longer.

  2. DeepSleeper says:

Can I put Vijver on my Mountain?

That’s half a joke, half a plea for an modular landscape gametoy.

  3. Captain Narol says:

Nice colors and graphics, but seems quite limited.

If you want a more serious pond simulation, go for “Among Ripples” :
