Next Battlefield 1 map brings night battles in rural France

Battlefield 1 Prise de Tahure map

The Butte-de-Tahure region will host Battlefield 1‘s [official site] next map, bringing sandbags and hand grenades to the sloping, cobbled streets of rural France.

The Prise de Tahure map will be set exactly 100 years ago in the autumn following the 1917 Nivelle Offensive, where allied forces tried and failed to push the Germans back in central France.

You’ll snipe, fly, and – if you’re Brendan  – house hunt your way around the region. The focus is on trench warfare, which could mean a slower pace than some existing maps.

Here’s what DICE had to say:

“The frontline trench networks cut right through several villages facing obliteration from the constant skirmishing between German stormtroopers and French raiders. This is a war of attrition. Adaptability and tactics are the means to wear your adversary down.”

There’s no concrete date for the map’s release, but DICE say it will be available “shortly” on the (PC-only) Community Test Environment, which you can sign up to here.

DICE also announced that the upcoming introduction of the Russian army, in DLC called In the Name of the Tsar, will be revealed on June 10, ahead of a full release later in the summer.9

The 2017 Nivelle offensive? I knew things were looking a bit hairy in France at the moment but I didn’t realise it was that bad.

They should do a russian civil war mod. Lots of insane factions, old weapons only. Lots of cavalry.

Night meaning everything is tinted slightly blue, but apart from that looking exactly like day?

When does the battle for harlem NY map DLC come out? Would make about as much sense as the rest of the game. Looking forward to the new call of duty and some actual historical accuracy, F Battlefield.

Obviously you were joking because COD is cancerous trash. LOL

Shame the game’s servers on PC are mostly dead now. Very tiny population and it’s sadly been reduced to almost entirely the tryhard experts playing. There’s a badly uneven curve of skill players, with very few middle or lower quality players playing.

    What a shame.

What on earth are you talking about? This might be depended on the region (im in EU) but i have no problems finding games and see people playing constantly. The only exceptions is when you choose particular operations map in which case usually a new server is created with you as the only player (on weekends it usually took up to 5 mintues to fill them up at start). However you can jump right in using the “quick play” option.Even most of the custom HC servers i can use are often quite full. The thing about “tryhard experts” is partially true but only outside weekends. Also high level players do not share high skills.

Not including Operations as part of the normal server browser seems like a mistake.

Otherwise, the game’s constantly full with players and I too never have a problem finding the game I want.

I just recently switched from Xbox One to PC for BF1 and had never a problem getting a game in Quick Play.

This is a load of crap. The game has a ton of servers on PC and I never struggle to find a match
