Euro Truck Simulator 2 off to Italy in next expansion

Another corner of Europe is getting expanded and fancied up later this year, with the next Euro Truck Simulator 2 [official site] DLC off to Italy. Like the recent French expansion, Italia will expand and update the country with new cities and more unique features. The handful of Italian cities already in the game will be updated to match for free for everyone too.

SCS Software gushed in today’s announcement:

“Our map designers have fallen in love with the new region right from the research stages – there are so many diverse environments to combine! From tall mountains to the shores of the seas, from manicured farmland to wilder and more arid places, it was clear that we are looking at quite a challenging and demanding task! We tried our best to depict the typical features of Italy from behind the wheel, like roads leading through the Apennines, where tunnels and bridges alternate with scenic vistas and curvy segments, opening the view to distant horizons. The geography and shape of Italy have also led to a relatively high concentration of cities and industries in the new DLC.”

They say they expect to launch the expansion “towards the end of this year.”

No price confirmed yet, but I’d expect it to cost £13.49/17,99€/$18.99 like the French and Scandinavian expansions.

I’m picturing a truck trying to squeeze through the narrow roads of Italian villa like that episode of Master of None. But, like, with a truck.

  4. steves says:

Can you load up your truck with stolen gold bullion, then balls up one of those terrifying Alpine hairpin bends so the back end is hanging precariously over a huge drop?

  5. caff says:

I’m waiting for the expansion where they strap David Davis into the bullbars of a truck and drive head first into the white cliffs of Dover.

  6. racccoon says:

Love the game it rocks when you get higher up! Speeding fines are a problem though, lol

  7. BlackeyeVuk says:

Well they mooch from community quite extensively. But, if they make it interesting like France, I might give thumbs up. France was so fine, and drive only there. Now Germoney is bland.

  8. Fnord73 says:

Have they included the possibility of hijacking? Because that has been a real problem especially in the alpine regions.

  9. TotallyUseless says:

That’s nice more locations for EutS2.

I hope tho SCS starts working for “seasonal changes” on the plants and atmosphere. It’s like EutS2 is set on a tropical country wherein its only either sunny or raining.
