Clickuorice Allsorts: The frying pan of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds wasn’t supposed to be bulletproof

Clickuorice Allsorts are our short, snappy posts about cool games ‘n’ stuff

Gather round, plunkbatters and PUBGilists. Put aside your differences in nomenclature for a moment and enjoy some trivia courtesy of Chris Bratt from Eurogamer. His Here’s a Thing series of videos are short forays into the nooks and crannies of the game industry and this one is about the frying pan of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds – a last-resort item that bloodsports folk use to hit their enemies. The thing is: it accidentally became a bulletproof bum-protector, as Chris explains. There’s more details about this ultimate insult-weapon in the accompanying article, but I understand you may not have time to read it, embedded as you are in your war of words. I hear the ‘PUBG’ vs ‘Plunkbat’ conflict is complete… pandemonium.

Pubattleg is a fun game. I cannot watch this video, but I generally approve of the pan being bulletproof, stupid as that is.

Personally as stupid as it may sound, I’d leave the pan as it is. It’s ingame mechanics benifits everyone the same way (unless you don’t have one of course). I personally think that bluehole should put more priority on the fucking insanely stupid lag before fucking with item mechanics. Also their aproach to countering the AFK killers is of monumental stupidity when theres a much simpler and easier fix to that problem, for example. if they’d remove the force jump from the plane at the end of the map and simply kill players after 1 warning to vacate the plane, kill them on the plane. period. see!? a simple fix to the AFK killers at map start. and I’m no fucking genious either, so what does that make bluehole developpers for missing such an OBVISOUS solution to that issue.. as for the lag, here’s another very simple fix. How about limitting players to their own country’s servers?? except of course for the opened OC servers. but asians should only be able to connect to asian servers and vice versa for north americans and etc for the other contries?? so I’m forced to question the reasoning skills of the developpers on those issues. Because I keep thinking they’re monumental morons for not having thought of those VERY easy fixes!

I don’t think Plunkbat makes much sense. You’re merging ‘player’ and ‘unknown’, but you’re not merging ‘battle’ and ‘grounds’. There’s no internal consistency!

The clear, logical, and superior choice is Plunkbag.

    • Author X says:

But it’s so much harder to get a bag to go “plunk!” when you hit someone with it than a bat. You have to find the right things to fill it with, and the right amount…

      • Darth Gangrel says:

This discussion is plunkbound (b from battle, ound from grounds) to go nowhere, but above is my suggestion.

I wonder how you define ‘merge’ as it seems they are, on one hand, doing the opposite of what you say, and on the other not merging anything at all, since battleground is a word already :)

Came here to applaud to last line. More of this sort of thing!

    • FatOak says:

Absolutely. Ignore those detractors who are giving it a panning.

The glorious pro-plunkbat revolution will bury you and vacuum your ashes.

History is on our side, and the fate of our pro-PUBG opponents lies in the toilets of destiny.

  5. praxcelis says:

“Plunkbat” is getting old. It’s to the point where it is no better than a bully playing on one’s name to mock them into submission and depression. Not just in mocking the name or the game, but the players, too.

But, hey… that’s the intent, right?

Plunkbat is a term they randomly came up with because “PLAYERUNKNOWN’s Battlegrounds” is too long.

It’s not bullying, what are you even on?
