Fallout 76 treasure maps: where to find the treasure

Almost heaven, West Virginia

Featured post Forest Treasure Map #08

It seems that many open world games have treasure maps these days and Fallout 76 is no exception. You’ll most likely find these by accident and should you follow the map to the corresponding mound, it will unearth some valuable treasure, including valuable weapons or armour, plans for said weapons or armour, and valuable rounds. They’re worth hunting for, so for those who wish to go the extra miles to gather those materials, I’ve prepared this guide that shows the locations of the treasure in the game.

Those looking for a beginner’s guide to get started with the Fallout 76 beta and indeed the full game when it comes out should have a look at our Fallout 76 guide.

Treasure map locations

It’s unclear if you can search the mounds without having the corresponding treasure map, but the cycle usually happens with the map being discovered. Then the player finds the corresponding spot nearby and locates the treasure using the hastily sketched map, digging up the mound for treasure.

Of course nobody has time for all of that, so I’ve prepared a small collection of the maps that have been located with the help of fellow Fallout 76 beta player “Nugg”. In order to search the table efficiently, I highly recommend using the search bar and type in the name of the map that you are looking for the location of.

Forest #08Gauley Mine - At the end of the mine there is a large open cavern with a big pool. Towards the back of the room, near the hidden exit, there is a trunk which contains the map.Exit the mine through the secret exit to see a bridge to the north. Walk to the other end and you'll be near the treasure. Cross the ravine and you'll see a mound nearby to dig up.Bridge near the minesForest Treasure #08 Map reference
Forest #09Horizon's Rest - In the tower guarded by a Elite Super Mutant. It has a trunk that contains the map.Summersville - Leave town via the south and take the east road. As you pass the bus on the road, stand by the sign and face back to town for the map view. The mound is by the first house next to the broken entrance to the crawl space.Sign near Summersville busForest Treasure #09 map reference
Savage Divide #07Relay Tower EM-B1-27 - Outside near the trailer is an Elite Mr Handy. The map is on it.
Savage Divide #08Kanawha County Cemetery - In the graveyard near the north end is an open garage-like hut. A Wretched Tick near the location holds the treasure map.
Toxic Valley #02Flatwoods Lookout - A Feral Ghoul Roamer holds this treasure map.Head north-east of the location you found the treasure map and head for Clarksburg. It's south of the Water Park. Find the water power and align your character with the image from the treasure map.

This should get you started with your treasure hunting, but there are plenty of other treasure maps that have yet to have been uncovered in Fallout 76. While I work on gathering more information about the maps and their treasure’s locations, you can have a gander at some of our other tips for the game. For example, there are Perk Cards which you can find out more about in our Fallout 76 perk cards guide since they work completely differently to just about any other Fallout game. You can also learn how to build the base of your dreams in our Fallout 76 CAMP guide.
