There’s just over a week to go until Black Friday now, but some retailers have decided to get the ball rolling early – chiefly Ebuyer and Newegg, who currently have some great deals on the 8GB version of AMD’s Radeon RX 580 graphics card. The RX 580 is currently our best graphics card recommendation for both flawless 1080p and decent 1440p gaming alongside Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1060, but these two deals make AMD’s offering a tempting proposition indeed.
Starting with Ebuyer in the UK, you can currently get MSI’s Radeon RX 580 Armour OC edition for just a couple of pence under £200, which is £90 off its regular price. Admittedly, it would have been an even better deal had AMD’s three free games promotion still been in effect, but that stopped at the beginning of the month when this particular deal hadn’t come into existence yet. Swings and roundabouts, I guess.
Still, as one of Ebuyer’s Black Friday Early Bird deals, this means the price won’t change between now and Black Friday, giving you the chance to get in on the action early without any fear of missing out on further discounts. On this particular card, at least. There may well be better deals to be had on other RX 580 cards on the big day next Friday (November 23rd, mark it in your diaries folks), but if you’d rather take the plunge now, this is still a pretty decent price.
After all, most 6GB GTX 1060s will set you back around £240-250 at the moment (although you do get the added bonus of a free copy of Monster Hunter: World for your trouble as well right now, which helps sweeten the a bit). You can also get some miniature 6GB GTX 1060s from Zotac and EVGA for just £230 at the moment, too, which together with the value you gain from Monster Hunter, more or less puts them on a level playing field with the RX 580. Either way, though, those are both excellent prices for this kind of graphics card, and either should serve you very well indeed for both 1080p and 1440p gaming alike.
For our US pals, it’s Gigabyte’s Radeon RX 580 Gaming edition we’re looking at today, which can also be had for just $200. Unlike the Ebuyer deal, however, you’ve only got the next five days to grab this deal (until Sunday), despite the fact it’s also part of Newegg’s Black Friday presale.
Still, it’s a much better buy than Newegg’s other AMD-related Black Friday presale offer at the moment, which features the RX 570 (the next card down) for $180. The RX 570 is still a great card for 1080p gaming, but it can’t hold a candle to what’s possible on the RX 580, so you’d be much better off spending the extra $20 in this case and bagging yourself a superior card. Alternatively, there’s also the 8GB Asus Radeon RX 580 Dual going for $200 as well right now, just in case you like the look of that one better than the Gigabyte.
Whichever card you go for, though, they’re both pretty good savings – at least compared to current US prices for the GTX 1060. While you can get 3GB GTX 1060s for around the same sort of money (plus that free copy of Monster Hunter), the 6GB versions are all closer to $300 right now on Newegg, giving you a bit more of a bargain.
