Fortnite challenges: Week 5, battle star location, water tower locations

Featured post Season 7 Week 5 challenges in Fortnite.

It’s the new year, and Fortnite’s seventh season keeps on going with week 5. This time we’re hunting for yet another Battle Star, causing structural damage to your enemies fortifications, and dancing on towers – as you do. This guide will go through each challenge, as well as show the locations of the towers and high places you need to dance on, where to drop to complete the other staged challenge, and that battle star location.

Fortnite Season 7 Week 5 challenges guide

With the game being the global sensation that it is, there’s a lot to learn about not only getting that all-important “Victory Royale”, but also the changes to the map as the seasons progress, and the challenges you can seek to complete. Head over to our Fortnite guide hub for every single thing you need to get started. Alternatively, you can head back to our Fortnite weekly challenges guide for an overview of all the weekly challenges for this Season in Fortnite.

Season 7 Week 5 Free challenge: Staged Challenge – Land at five points of interest

The first challenge this new year week is to land in five locations in order. It’s not all that difficult, but make sure you complete each game rather than quit out as soon as you land, or it won’t count. Here are the five points you should land at.

  • Stage 1 – Land at Polar Peak
  • Stage 2 – Land at Fatal Fields
  • Stage 3 – Tomato Lake
  • Stage 4  Loot Lake
  • Stage 5 – Snobby Shores

Season 7 Week 5 Free challenge: Deal 5000 damage to enemy structures

Again, this one is quite simple conceptually to do, just grab some guns and start shooting. One weird thing with this one is that I completed this challenge by destroying structures created in the pre-game, so bizarrely damaging them in a period that’s normally not counted towards challenges, works for this one. Still, it’s better to just destroy them in-game with something explosive or capable of ripping it to shreds.

Season 7 Week 5 Free challenge: Eliminate three enemies with suppressed weapons

You can find out more about the actual weapons themselves in our Fortnite weapons guide, but generally the three weapons that work for this are the Suppressed Pistol, Suppressed Assault Rifle, and the new Suppressed Sniper Rifle. They’re relatively quiet, so you can attack from afar with relative safety, but this is most definitely a skill challenge. Thankfully the progress carries over between matches.

Season 7 Week 5 Battle Pass challenge: Staged Challenge – Land on top of the towers

This staged challenge tasks players with getting their groove on whilst on top of a tower. You must dance on these towers in order and after dancing you must complete the game (either die or win) in order for it to count.

  • Stage 1 – Water Tower – Found in Retail Row, this is towards the south-east of the region.
  • Stage 2 – Ranger Tower – Found in Lonely Lodge, this is to the south of the region.
  • Stage 3 – Air Traffic Control Tower – Found in Frosty Flights, this one is by the runway.

Season 7 Week 5 Battle Pass challenge: Search chests at Wailing Woods or Paradise Palms

Another looting chest challenge, but this one you can somewhat cheese it by just heading into the secret bunker of the Wailing Woods. It’s by no means completely safe, as people who do land here tend to seek out the bunker first, but there are also some dotted around the outskirts of the woods. Just look for seven of these to complete the challenge.

Season 7 Week 5 Battle Pass challenge: Search for the Battle Tier

A different kind of treasure hunt this one. This one is found on close to Tomato Temple next to the bridge to the east of the location. It’s nestled between some rocks and a festive bush on the southern end of the bridge. Refer to the screenshot above for the exact location.

Season 7 Week 5 Battle Pass challenge: Eliminate an opponent closer than 5m away

Last one for this week and it’s another kill-based challenge. This time you need to kill three opponents close to you. This is tougher than it sounds, since everyone will want to kill you before you close the distance ideally. The trick here is to surprise them in one way or another, but it’s best done in a mode where you can respawn. LTM mode is ideal for this since players aren’t as on edge, meaning that a closeup kill with a shotgun is entirely plausible. You can get more tips about the shotgun and other close range weapons in our Fortnite weapons guide.

This concludes Season 7 Week 5 guide, but there’s plenty more challenges to complete in Season 7. If you missed the previous week’s challenges, check out our Season 7 Week 4 challenges guide. Next up are the challenges featured in Season 7 Week 6 challenges, so be sure to check them out to complete those challenges.
