The Pangar in Dauntless is another larger foe that could give newer players a bit of a hard time. It’s mostly due to the fact that its Aether Charged mode creates new ice obstacles that can make fighting it that little bit tougher. That said, there are ways to interrupt the most devastating of attacks and take advantage of the situation.
Those new to hunting Behemoths should brush up on the basics. Head over to our Dauntless Behemoths guide to find the rest of the bosses, or head back to our Dauntless guide & tips for more tips and tricks.

How to kill the Pangar
Whenever the Pangar begins to roll around, this is your window of opportunity to knock him over with an interrupting attack, or “boop”. It will stagger it for a shorter time than normal, but it will stop it from steamrolling your team. That’s not its only attack. If it shakes a little bit before jumping, it will do a somersault instead that ends with a slam of its tail, so don’t be in front of it when this happens.
It otherwise acts very similarly to Hellion – it can scrape its foot, charge at you, and do a double tail swipe that can be very hard to predict. My advice here is to just learn the timing and dodge twice if it goes for a tail-based attack. You’ll lose more stamina, but your health will thank you for it.
You can tell if it’s Aether-Charged by whether or not the spines on its back are covered in ice. While it’s in ice, it can create pillars of ice when it uses its rolling attack, as well as fire ice shards into the air when it slams its tail onto the ground. If it is going for the stomp, it’ll create a small ice pillar near you, so roll towards it to avoid that secondary attack. If it’s enraged, look out whenever it does the tail swipe attack as it can hit the full 360 degrees around him.
