AssCreed Chronicles 2.5D Spin-Offs Conclude Jan/Feb

Visiting India and Russia

Assassin's Creed seems to be how Ubisoft ended up channeling their Prince of Persia-y urgings, taking the parkour-o-fighting from the platformer's 3D outings into open worlds with some shite about aliens, but it's sorta looped all the way back around. The spin-off Assassin's Creed Chronicles is subseries of side-on platformers, see. AssCreed Chronicles: China arrived in April, and now Ubi have announced release dates for the other two chapters, India and Russia.

They're set in different times, starring different Assassins, and I do like how they reflect this with different art styles. That propaganda poster-y Russia looks pretty nice. India is coming on January 12th, 2016, then Russia will follow on February 9th. I wonder why the wait was so long after China when these two are arriving so close to each other. I suppose Ubi might have wanted a clear Creedgap around Syndicate? Mysteries!

Anyway, India goes down in 1841 while Russia's set at the start of the 20th century, around the time of the revolution. More details and picture are in Ubi's announcement but basically, you're an Assassin tied up in historical events and the Templars are bad so you run and jump and climb and kill them. I didn't play AssCreedChron China myself but heard it was... okay? Competent? Not up there with Mark of the Ninja for stealthy murderplatforming, certainly.

Made by Climax Studios, AssCreedChron India and Russia will cost $9.99 apiece. A retail release with all three AssCreedChrons is also due on February 9th at $29.99.
