Superdog: Fallout 4’s Dogmeat Can’t Die

Todd Howard has shared a lot of information about Fallout 4 [official site] so far this E3, but this latest titbit is easily the most important of the lot. Your faithful dog companion will never die. Despite the world being transformed into a nuclear wasteland, this makes Fallout 4's universe the most beautiful of all the universes.

Rats, They’re Back: New Warhammer Vermintide Trailer

Here's a trailer you may have missed among the bigger news of E3 2015, but fans of anthropomorphised rat slaughter will nevertheless want to check out. This short Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide [official site] trailer shows off the variety of environments you'll be trudging through with friends once the co-op FPS releases this autumn.

Heroes Of The Storm: Eternal Conflict Adding More Diablo

We knew Diablo's Butcher was coming to Heroes of the Storm [official site] with its Diablo-y Eternal Conflict expansion, but Blizzard had saved up a little secret or two. They don't let you even into Los Angeles this week unless you have something new to show off, you know. The Monk and dear old King Leoric the Skeleton King are also making his way to…

Sea Of Thieves: Multiplayer Pirate Action From Rare

With Kinect now a thing of the past, Rare are free to make actual games again. They're exercising this freedom by creating an online multiplayer pirate game called Sea Of Thieves [official site]. After the excellent Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag reminded me how much I love pirating, the idea of getting a full crew together and exploring the oceans is an appealing one. Especially…

The White March Is Pillars Of Eternity’s First Expansion

Pillars Of Eternity [official site] looks set to live up to its name with even more playable hours being added to the game in the near future. An expansion, titled The White March: Part 1 is "coming soon" according to its announcement trailer, was revealed last night. Set after the events of the first game, it not only begins a new storyline but also includes…

Castle Crashers Remastered Announced

Castle Crashers [official site] is being remastered, despite only being released... oh, eight years ago? Yeah, fair enough then. I guess The Behemoth realised that they've not managed to outdo themselves in the years since, so may as well try and sell us the same game again. And we'll buy it, because Castle Crashers remains the best side scrolling co-op brawler since the days of…

Tabletop Gaming: HoloLens Meets Minecraft

Microsoft wowed me with an impressive display of their HoloLens augmented virtual reality visor yesterday. Jury's out on whether it was real magic or just an illusion, but the hardware's integration with Minecraft looks like the stuff of sci-fi. Minecraft worlds appear on your tabletop with full gesture and voice commands allowing you to navigate and interact in realtime.

Dark Souls 3 Announced, Miyazaki Directing

The leaked information about Dark Souls III [official site] is looking more legit now. The game was officially announced during Microsoft's E3 press conference today and, while some of the more granular specifics are yet to be announced, one thing has been confirmed. Legendary director Hidetaka Miyazaki is back in the driving seat for this one when it launches in early 2016. I guess that's actually…

The Walking Dead: Michonne Is A New Telltale Miniseries

Telltale Games have announced a new three-part The Walking Dead miniseries, starting this autumn. The Walking Dead: Michonne, as the name suggests, focuses on Michonne, one of the longest surviving characters in the comics. Across the three episodes, you'll explore her whereabouts and actions between issues 126 -139 of the comics.

When To Watch The Big E3 Press Event Streams

Sleep is for the weak and the uninformed and the sensible. Which is why I'll be up until the stupid hours of the morning watching the E3 festivities play out like a parade of dreams (or a collection of marketing hoo-hah and 30sec reveal trailers, depending on your outlook). It all kicks off today, and you can see all of the big press conferences streaming…

Bethesda’s BattleCry Beta Beginning… Autumn

Bethesda’s first ever E3 press conference kicked off the event with a strong showing, but despite Doom and Fallout flavoured highs, it wasn’t without its lulls. Namely, BattleCry [official site]. Which, from the looks of the E3 trailer (found below), seems about as generic and uninspiring as its name suggests.

Carded: The Elder Scrolls: Legends Is A F2P CCG

With the announcement of The Elder Scrolls: Legends, an upcoming free-to-play strategy card game set in the Elder Scrolls universe, Bethesda’s quest to become Blizzard continues in earnest. They clearly want a piece of that Hearthstone pie. At this rate we'll see Bethesda announce a MOBA, perhaps named Heroes Of The Scrolls, at E3 next year.

Portal – Portals + Magnets = Magnetic: Cage Closed

Stop me if this sounds familiar. Imprisoned within an enclosed facility by a disembodied female voice, you’re given control of a prototype weapon and led through a series of physics based puzzle rooms which... No, it's not Portal. This is Magnetic: Cage Closed [official site].  Which seems very similar in a lot of ways, except for one; there are no portals. Instead, that untested gun…

Audiosurf 2 Surfs Out Of Early Access With Demo

Audiosurf 2 [official site], the game which allows you to 'ride' your music on a neon futuristic racetrack, has left Steam Early Access today. It brings an updated Audiosurf experience, with new official game modes and skins alongside the 500+ already available on Steam Workshop. Not only that, but according to the developer the "UI is good now", which is always a plus.

Perception: Former Irrational Folks Crowdfunding Horror

You'll play a blind girl called Cassie who must use echolocation to explore a haunted mansion in Perception, a first-person horror game just launched on Kickstarter by former Irrational members. It looks to be a refreshing take on the scary house trope, with noise 'illuminating' areas so that you can 'see'. Cassie's ability to detect her surroundings are not dissimilar to those of Marvel's Daredevil,…

Spelling It Out For You: Magicka 2 Has Launched

There’s something about Magicka’s sense of humour that makes the series instantly likeable. The first game and all of its DLC was daft and fun and refused to take itself seriously. It helped that it was a cracking good game, as well. Judging from the Magicka 2 [official site] launch trailer, the sequel looks to follow the same vein. Only 96 seconds long and I…

Life Is A Savage Road In New Mad Max Trailer

Savage Road, the title of the new Mad Max [official site] story trailer, is strangely similar to the name of that Mad Max movie that released recently. You might not have heard of it, it had kind of a subdued launch and response seems to have been a bit muted so far. Mad Max is so hot right now and Avalanche Studios knows this, as they've managed…

2K Games Teasing New Game With Daft Website

2K Games are going to announce a new game soon. You can tell because the publishers are tweeting links to a faux-hacked website covered with concept art of sci-fi cityscapes. That and we can pretty much guarantee every publisher will be announcing a new game soon. E3 is only weeks away, after all. This 2K game will possibly be called Advent, but also possibly not.…
