The Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ 4K G-Sync HDR monitor is getting a 20% discount this Black Friday

A very Swift way to save some money

In case you hadn't noticed, early bird Black Friday deals are in full swing at the moment, and Asus have just announced a biggie that will almost certainly get UK monitor fans all aflutter come this time next week. For the mighty Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ (that's right, their 27in, 4K, Nvidia G-Sync HDR monitor with a 144Hz refresh rate) is going to have a whopping 20% shaved off its price next Friday, bringing its current price of £2200 down to something a lot more palatable in the region of £1800.

That's still extortionate, don't get me wrong, but out of the two G-Sync HDR screens available at the moment - the other being the Acer Predator X27 - the Asus is probably almost certainly (definitely maybe etc etc) the one I'd go for. While I'm not overly fond of Asus' obsession with sticking a million LEDs in its stand, I came away much more impressed by the PG27UQ's HDR than I did the Predator's, and you also get the added benefit of having its fans actually turn off once you power down your PC instead of having them running continually into the night.

The final Black Friday price may vary between retailers, of course (the deal will be taking place at Ebuyer, Very, Scan and Box) but you can be sure I'll be popping the very best deal over in our big Best Black Friday PC gaming deals mega hub as well as our Cyber Monday gaming monitor deals round-up.

If the PG27UQ doesn't quite take your fancy, there will be plenty of other monitors on sale as well, including the curved 32in, 2560x1440 144Hz Freesync screen, the ROG Strix XG32VQ, and the 4K FreeSync monitor VP28UQG among others, as well as various Asus peripherals such as the Asus ROG Strix Fusion 500 headset, Asus ROG Strix Flare and ROG Claymore keyboards and the excellent ambidextrous Asus ROG Pugio mouse - all of which will be rounded up in our Cyber Monday mouse and keyboard deals and Cyber Monday gaming headset deals pages once I've got official sales prices.

Alas, there's no word on whether any Asus graphics cards will be discounted over Black Friday just yet, but as always, it's probably best to keep an eye on our Cyber Monday graphics card deals page just in case I manage to find a couple that have slipped through the net. Let the deals hunting commence!
