C'Thun Warrior (Standard) deck list and guide - Hearthstone - November 2016

How to win more games using the best C'Thun Warrior deck in Season 32.

You get no prizes for guessing that C'Thun Warrior is a deck archetype that plays into the strength of everyone's favourite Old God card, C'Thun. The deck actually plays out in a manner not entirely dissimilar to Control Warrior, although as you can imagine your focus in the early and mid-game is as much on ensuring your C'Thun gets fed, as it is on chopping away at the opponent's developing board.

There are many different versions of this deck floating around right now, but we think fans of all-things-Warrior should get a big kick out of this fun archetype, whichever particular deck list they choose to sample. Quite a few Heroes have risen high in the rankings thanks to the C'Thun flavour of cards introduced with the Old Gods, and while it's not the Warrior's strongest deck right now, it's still pretty good.

In the next of our essential deck guides, we'll get you up to speed with the ins and outs of the C'Thun Warrior nice and quickly. First of all we've outlined the most popular version of the deck that's currently in play, and also included a solid overview of how to actually play it. Need some Mulligan advice? We've got you covered there as well, and we've also broken down all of the individual combos to help you acclimatise to things quickly.

Editor's note - November update: With both the Karazhan era of Hearthstone approaching its final stages, and C'Thun Warrior falling out of favour somewhat, it should come as no surprise to see a deck list that's identical to last month's. There's little appetite for experimentation here right now, so just carry on playing the deck as you have been in the past!

C'Thun Warrior (Standard) deck list and strategy - November 2016

This is probably the most consistent version of C'Thun Warrior that we've come across in the metagame so far. While we're happy with this list ofr now, rest assured we'll keep our eyes peeled for an even better version in time for the start of the next season.

More great Warrior guides:

Your objective in the early game is to start fielding your C'Thun minions while also controlling the opponent's side of the board. Cards like Fiery Axe, Slam - and even Acolyte of Pain against Aggro - can help you achieve this to good effect.

Keep developing your side of the board as best you can while minimising the opponent's threats. You have tonnes of removal at your disposal, and you'll find more advice on the overall strategy involved in using these cards in the combo section on the next page of this guide. In the early to mid-game, it's almost always better to trade minions and keep the opponent's progress in check.

Hopefully by the time you approach the late-game you have a C'Thun capable of boosting Twin Emperor Vek'lor and giving your opponent an even bigger headache to deal with on the board. Justicar Trueheart will help you stay in the game to deliver justice, while Gorehowl can be used for both control or finishing purposes. Elise Starseeker provides an alternative path to victory.
