Dead Space walkthrough Chapter 3: Course Correction
Chapter 3 picks up in the Hangar Bay, where you can now use your suit thrusters to fly around the room. It's a huge chamber, but one worth exploring before you continue. There are plenty of crates floating around, and also containers and lockers on either side.
However, the only notable item is Voelker’s RIG, a special item that you can find on the left side of the vacuum chamber. You’ll spot the purple light as you float around. After grabbing the RIG, head back to the right side and float down the shaft. At the bottom, head through the doors that lead to the Engineering Deck to exit the vacuum.

Where to get the Ripper
In a rare scenario, you'll stumble across a security door that you can currently open on your way to the Engineering Deck. Grab the loot inside, and then continue down the corridor to find an elevator. Nearby, you'll find a Text Log nestled in the Necromorph growth.
Ride the elevator down and, upon exiting, turn right and head down the corridor to find the Engineering Tram Station. Interact with the terminal inside to unlock this fast travel point, and then head into the engine control room to get your next objective.
After a brief chat with Hammond, make your way into the Preparation Room and down the stairs ahead. At the bottom, you'll find a new Dead Space remake weapon named the Ripper on the floor.

How to refuel the engines and where to get the Fuel Station Keycard
Next to the Ripper, there is a bathroom that you can enter. Inside, you'll find a message box that you can interact with to get an Audio Log.
Before continuing along the main path, you can head down a short side path next to the stairs. There, you'll find the Calibration Room, which is the location of your current objective for Scientific Methods. Head inside and play the video recording to watch Nicole perform an autopsy on a Necromorph. As the recording ends, your objective will update, tasking you with finding Kyne's Mining Deck Hideout. This can't be completed right away, so continue with the main story for now.
After grabbing the Ripper, continue through the corridor until you reach the Refuelling Control Stations. When inside, follow the railing to the left and skip the platform that you can move with Kinesis for now. Make your way around to the North Engines refuel station and use Kinesis to pull the lever down.
There's also a shortcut back into the main Engine Control Room here, so head in and save quickly. When you're ready, head back down to the Kinesis platform, pull it towards you, and climb aboard.
When you're riding the platform across, we'd recommend keeping your weapon trained on the other side of the room. Start shooting as soon as you spot Necromorphs ahead, and consider using the alt-fire mode on your Pulse Rifle to fire some explosives into the fray.
When the room is clear, dismount the platform and head left. Follow the path around to find an Audio Log on the floor.

As you dismount, you'll also spot a locked room that requires a Fuel Station Keycard. You can find that by following the railings ahead until you reach a save station. Simply turn right at the save point and grab the Keycard on the desk. Grab the Keycard, note the location of the nearby refuel station, and then head back to the locked door. You'll find a circuit breaker inside that you can use to divert power away from either the lights or life support systems to the refuel station.
We opted to turn off the life support systems here, as Isaac's suit has enough oxygen to keep him alive. Of course, this puts you on a timer, and you'll need to fight through some Necromorphs to reach the refuel station.
Then, you'll need to head back across on the Kinesis platform, so use the oxygen refuel station nearby to replenish your suit's oxygen supply before starting the ride. When you get back to the main Control Room, the door will shut behind you and seal the vacuum.

How to reach the Centrifuge
As you're leaving, take note of a door within the Refueling Control Stations that's currently locked. It requires Security Clearance level 2, which you won't get for a little while longer, so you can't get inside right now.
After arriving back, take the cargo lift towards the Centrifuge to head towards your next objective.
When the cargo lift stops, step up and turn left into the nearby corridor. Here, you'll find a door that requires Security Clearance level 1 on the way to the main objective, which you can enter straight away.
After looting the security room, head back outside and follow the path past the Decontamination Room. Head around the bend to find a Text Log.

Head into the Decontamination Room and interact with the terminal. This will shut off the lights and cause a few Necromorphs to burst into the room. Fend them off while waiting for the decontamination process to finish, and then head through the door leading to the Centrifuge.
Upon exiting the Decontamination Room, search the lockers opposite the door to find a medium med-pack Schematic.
Continue into the Centrifuge corridors and immediately take a left. This path leads to a dead end, but you'll find a Power Node in a small container at the end. Be ready, though, as some baby Necromorphs will attack on the way back. As you head around to the main Centrifuge room, you'll also find a Text Log on the floor, next to a smashed section of the wall.

How to activate the Centrifuge
In the Dead Space remake, you can activate your suit thrusters to float around the Centrifuge. However, there are also Necromorphs leaping around in zero-gravity, so we'd recommend clearing the room before trying to complete the Centrifuge puzzle.
When the room is clear, look for two whirring generators that have a blue hue. You need to use Kinesis to move each generator towards the Centrifuge, but they will not attach automatically. To complete this puzzle, use Stasis on each generator first, and then use Kinesis to lock it in. Then, interact with the nearby terminal to reactivate the Centrifuge. As it starts to spin, the seals below will open and create a vacuum, so you'll need to act fast to escape the room.
Use the cargo lift nearby to head to the lower level of the Centrifuge. You'll find yourself on a walkway that goes around the edge, with occasional safety pockets that you can use to avoid the spinning Centrifuge. Make your way around, taking cover from the machinery whenever necessary, until you reach another cargo lift. Use this to head back up towards the exit, and go through the nearby door to leave the vacuum.

How to get the Flamethrower
As you start making your way back to the main Control Room, a massive meaty hand will grab and pull you through the corridor ahead. You must fire your weapon at the red section of the arm. Aiming is a little tricky here, but simply use your Pulse Rifle until the arm explodes and you are able to dash away. Then, head back to the main Control Room, where you can save and recover from that attack.
The rest of your crew will pop on the radio briefly here, granting you access to the main Engine Room. Head through the new door and continue until you find a Flamethrower. You can equip this in your final weapon slot, and it's going to be important when fighting some new enemies in a moment. Push forward through the alien growth and head over to the cargo lift.

How to reignite the Ishimura engines
Next to the cargo lift, there is a small room that you can enter. Inside, you'll find an Audio Log, along with a Power Node in a small container on the wall. Opposite the lift, there is also a door that requires Security Clearance 3 to get inside
Take the cargo lift down to the lower level and shoot the glowing part of the nearby Necromorph growth to clear the path ahead. Get your Flamethrower out ready, though, as a bunch of tiny Necromorphs will charge out of a nearby room. Burn them away, and then take the next cargo lift down. Use Stasis on the faulty door to get through safely and head into the Engine Room, which you’ll need to clear of Necromorphs.
When you've defeated the initial wave, head to the far right side of the room and grab the power core. Insert it into the nearby engine socket, and then fight off the next wave of Necromorphs. Then, take the ramp to the upper levels and interact with the terminal to activate the engines, completing your objective.

Next to the engine ignition terminal, you'll find a Flamethrower Fuel Schematic. You can use such schematics to unlock ammo to purchase for your various weapons throughout the Dead Space remake.
With the engines reignited, head back to the Engineering Tram Station while talking with Hammond and Daniels. Upon entering the Tram Station, you will complete Chapter 3: Course Correction.
