Lewie posted this on SavyGamer earlier this evening - the developer is doing a $1.99 sale (Desura or direct from him via BMT Micro) and as I'd never heard of it before, I took a peek at the demo

It's a procedural-generated-level shooter with some 'mining' (shooting rocks) thrown-in for good measure. The 'currency' system completely confuses me - as does most of the rest of the game tbh - but it's lovely to look at and has clearly been someone's labour of love.

I'm going to grab this and spread the word a bit. Looks like a great game, but has slipped under the radar (all I do in my own time is read about games, and I'd never heard of it) and it seems like it hasn't sold so well (http://code-drama.com/2011/07/09/demo-post-release-impressions-reviews/). Thanks for pointing it out.

I absolutely love Spelunky, so I will be checking out this game.

I gave it another go and it's really odd - some bits are hugely polished but there's an enormous hole where "what you actually do" goes :)

The demo level is a bit too basic to see if there's a good game in there - but if nothing else it stands as an example of what happens when you spend a load of time creating something and nowhere near as much time publicising it.

The latter isn't natural to us developers - we're no good at it - we may even be offended by the idea we need to blow our own trumpets and that's why a lot of games sink without trace.

That's not to say shouting loudly works either - I've shamelessly plugged my free Android games (http://www.somewhatdog.com) so many times *coughs* but anyway - mining, shooting, turrets and slightly odd looking monsters it has aplenty!
