View Full Version : RPSers with exams

Many of us here at RPS either have recently, are currently or will soon be experiencing the horror that is exam season.
Exam season.
A dark time for gamers, when free time is limited and sleep is rare. But there is light at the end of the tunnel! Summer approaches!
A dark time for gamers, when computers overheat easily and sunlight dazzles. But at least you have time for gaming!
So, my question is, when do your exams finish? What flavour of exams are you doing? Do you plan on doing anything to celebrate - perhaps an RPS meetup, either in a game or with the Social Club?

For me, my A-levels finish at the end of June. My friends and I are planning a LAN party to celebrate, then over the summer holidays I aim to upgrade my computer ready for Deus Ex 3 and Battlefield 3.

I should also add, good luck to all who are taking exams!

Finished with exams last week, most of my mates are done with them the third week of June or so, good luck to those of you who still have exams.

First year uni exams are well underway here. I do a mostly coursework-based Photography and Multimedia Technology course, so only two exams, one of which has been attacked in its weak spot for massive damage. One more and then free to do as I please! Until I find a summer job. Bum.

Finished the last my AS levels last Thursday. They went fairly well, so I intend to buy a new graphics card to celebrate. Good luck on the rest of yours.

Second year uni and I'm kinda happy with the way it's going now. I intend to finish my education with no effort at all, which plan I invented the past semester, and it's kinda neat right now. I've got another exam which I cannot blow on monday, next on tuesday, than on thursday and friday, than three in the next week and... fuck, it's never-ending. The last one's 17th June, and three days later my boss leaves for holiday so I'm in a giant arsehole.

Second year uni, one more exam next week. Relatively light on the amount of exams this year as each year my course gets more and more essay-oriented, but I suppose that just makes the exams themselves trickier. Did fairly terribly on my last one which was a subject I thought I was fairly knowledged in (and eventually it was the short time limit and the rush it caused that wrecked the whole thing), so starting to feel slightly nervous about the last one as it's something I've not been massively strong in in the first place.

No party or anything planned, the fact that I can stop worrying about the bleeding things is a party in itself.

Good luck everyone!

in July I'm taking the NAPLEX and Florida MJPE

Just finished exams on friday (2nd year uni), celebrated by going to the pub, coming home drunik and playing Men of War: Assault Squad and managing to get the top score above Alex and Helios :P

(to be fair I lost a hell of a lot more stuff than they did)

I've done 2 exams and have 8 left. A-Levels hooray!

July... JULY. I have 4 exams on July. EVERY SiNGLE ONE ON A SATURDAY AT 8 AM... FFFFFFWF

What are these A-levels? Over here in A.U.Stralia we simply have exams. In fact, I have 3 of these exam things left to go.

I don't have to sit exams anymore: I have to mark them because I'm old and crochety. And that means that my Suckitude Zones are immediately after the Filthy Students [TM] are free.

Anyway, that means I get to start exam marking on the 23rd of June, and try to finish in two or three days because the exam is late and close to deadlines.

Oh yeah, and I have the oral defence for my PhD on the 17th. And a tonne of essays to mark now.

So what I'm really trying to say is that I shouldn't be posting on RPS, but here we are.

Today I pass or I fail the year.
Same tomorrow, but it kinda sucks anyway.

Only got one exam this semester in two weeks. Final year student nurse for the win! Except for the endless weeks of unpaid clinical practice, which is infinitely worse.

Damn, I'm getting nervous.

But come on, reported and direct speech with inversion isn't THAT hard, I can't fail. Maybe. Shit.

I just handed in my 2 exam assignments in the last two weeks of May. Been a happy gamer since then!

I study history, so I wrote a "mock-up" of an article about Auschwitz for a popular historical journal, and an ordinary assignment on the Dutch Revolt against the Spanish monarch in the 16th-17th century.

I've got a summer job as a tour guide on the last Danish submarine and one of our Cold War era Torpedo/Missile Boats, so it's not all free time. But I'm looking forward to working on these two magnificent vessels.

Good luck to all you poor sods who still have exams.

I'm so envious, my exam session starts in July and I have 6 exams this semester.

Second one tomorrow, Formal Modeling and Analysis of Communicating Systems.

3rd year uni. I study Translation so I cannot study at all, I depend on being inspired the day I take the exam (and the text to translate not being too difficult). However, I've got to do lots of papers I've been accumulating throughout the whole year due to gaming and procrastinating. Fuck yeah.

I'd say good luck but hey, luck is for losers!

No exams but I'm in essay crunch time for my masters in English Literature. I specialise in 'ain't it cool?' stuff. I've previously written papers on Drugs and Alcohol in Dracula and Jekyll and Hyde, and Hyper Real Las Vegas, which featured a discussion of New Vegas. Currently working on Nihilism in Romero's Night of the Living Dead, and Post-Modern Pornography.

I had exams. Studied for 2h before, made the exam, run home to see E3.
Yeah, I'm that excited. Ubisoft makes every E3 better.

First year uni exams crushed underfoot on Friday, spent the next five days sleeping on the beach and generally being super-Australian, and now I'm finally home and exhausted.

Sounds fun. I'm not joking.

Right now I'm coding my projects, in two weeks or so will take sixth semester's exams, then going to work for some time and to get my bachelors and then to start to work on masters, and, if nobody says this is a stupid idea, perhaps will begin simultaniously second masters degree (I'd be old finishing it, erm). I'm not sure where this summer holidays stuff will fit this year, but at least I enjoy my studies.

Busy with second year uni exams. One more day of studying and the rush'll be over because then I've got a solid two weeks until the last one. As to what I'll be doing then, not sure yet, I will however finish some games of Frozen Synapse started whilst studying some easier stuff last week.

I have two more A2 exams this week (English Lit and Psychology) and then I am done!
