So this is kind of like Wikipedia, which works entirely on the basis that people like to prove other people wrong?
It's more like the Talk:Aluminium page of wikipedia.
It's an inside forum joke actually.
No, I'm pretty sure it was about fifteen.
Thread reminds me of an image:
Turns out The Verge does RPS better than RPS. Same article with content in place of PC elitism.
"In one example of the latter, John Walker of Rock Paper Shotgun aptly notes the theme of console-exclusive DLC announced prior to a game's launch at this year's expo ó a worrisome trend where companies seem to suggest that consumers should not only accept the fact that game content is being purposely withheld and sold to them at a later date, but that they should be excited about it." http://www.theverge.com/2012/6/8/307...ind-them-at-e3
Ok. I'll try and explain this in the nicest way possible so that the journalists(?) with a hit count meter understand.
DLC is dlc.
It doesn't matter if the developers announce it before release, release it on day one of release or day 40 after release. You've already bought the game new so what does it matter?
You've bought the game. The developers want you to spend more money on the game that you've already bought.
And you (the gaming press), all of you bloody promote it.
So stop complaining or don't post articles on dlc.
If it gets you some hits, then carry on. As I suspect you will.
From The Verge -
"...a worrisome trend where companies seem to suggest that consumers should not only accept the fact that game content is being purposely withheld and sold to them at a later date, but that they should be excited about it." http://www.theverge.com/2012/6/8/307...ind-them-at-e3
Again, just type 'rockpapershotgun dlc' into Google.
They're not promoting it. They're reporting on it. Again reporting on... oh I don't know, Moon Nazis (since that's topical) doesn't mean that the publication endorses Moon Nazis.
Out of all the many and numerous opinions put forward by this website, why have you got your knickers in a twist about this one, Rii? I'm genuinely puzzled. This can't be the first one you disagreed with or thought was badly written?
If this isn't the first time you've posted links to other articles you thought dealt with a subject better than RPS, my apologise.
Also, I don't get the snark. Has John Walker personally insulted you or something? Or is that just the default tone for when you interact with people?
