In such a case, the answer you come up with on the spot becomes immediately true, and true in exactly the way that you intend for it to be true. This isn't clear-cut in a computer game. Is it true...

I think one of the main problems with the scene and with the trope in RPGs in general is that at that point the player is supposed to choose a response when they don't even know what is true. Were...

Is there really no quicksave? I can't find an option for one.

Rebel Galaxy is my go-to game for straightforward fun these days.
I got Stellaris this week. I like it. Extradimensional aliens just ate all my worlds. Time for another game.

I think the moral of DA2 is that you can't be a hero who saves the day for everyone when you and everyone else are complete idiots at all times.

Piffle! Baldur's Gate 2 is the Best Bioware Game Ever! On the grounds that it's the Best Game Ever.

My Numenera playthrough has been sidetracked once I saw a friend play Thief Gold for the first time and now naturally have to play it through myself. It's even better than I remembered.

One thing that works in its favour is that a lot of your character advancement choices help you in and out of combat. The skills and abilities part doesn't usually, but increasing your stat pools and...

New Torment is interesting so far, haven't played much yet though. It has the significant advantage over Planescape that it's very clear what its focus should be, both in the way it's designed and...

It always did seem rather silly that the Sovereign would spend so much time dicking around rather than just summoning the Reaper Horde when he realised that things had gone wrong. Harbinger's plan in...

I'm going to have a go at the new Torment. I didn't like the old one at all but I'll make an effort to get into this one.

Currently I favour Rebel Galaxy and Final Liberation as games to play when I don't want to tax myself too much... both games do require concentration though. I don't play an awful lot of games that...

Baldur's Gate 2 gets about as close as I could expect from a game of that scope. Mass Effect 2 was pretty much perfect for me, although I can understand why someone who really liked the first game...
I think Eder was the only PoE party member I really liked. Kana is fine though, better than the rest.
I expect I will still play Baldur's Gate 2 for many many more years because I doubt anything quite like it will ever be made again. But it's not like it's a game I play regularly every week or...

I have played XCOM 2, Dishonoured 2, Darkest Dungeon, and Sorcery (just 1 so far). All very strong games.
I am interested in Curious Expedition and Deus Ex, and slightly interested in Duskers and...
The difficulty ratings on LOTR LCG quests are rather unreliable... they're usually reasonably accurate but some are complete nonsense (Into Ithilien; Fangorn).
Having played a little bit of the...

How often do you really change your mind on a game from, say, the half-way point? From bad -> good that is; the other way round is more common. Sure, after a couple of sessions you might be wrong...
In the first game I just assumed he was a hallucination. Doesn't really work in the sequel.

I discovered I cannot play a game where Block isn't right-click, which left me with the even more troublesome question of where to put the Use Power button. Eventually I had to go with middle mouse,...

I imagine you could play it in 8 hours if you were rushing through it, but why would you? I think I have over 4 hours just on the Clockwork Mansion mission. I don't know if the in-game timer for the...

The Dishonoured 2 guards on Hard don't give you much time before going full alert, do they?! Yikes!

In Football manager 2017 I have surprisingly quickly developed a tactic that provides me with better possession and good chances in almost every game.
I still lose almost every match. I don't...

The point of rail privatisation is not to provide choice to the traveller, it's to provide choice to the government. It works pretty well, the service is basically good (better than when it was...
